Why Doesn’t God Tweet?

According to Christians, God exists, God answers prayers, God has a personal relationship with each believer, and God has sent his son to earth. Yet God is completely silent today. Instead, He depends on tweeting popes to spread the message of God:

Pope, as @Pontifex, Sends First Tweet, Blessing Followers

Mockery outweighs piety after pope’s Twitter debut

“Part of the pope’s job description is to spread the word,” Greg Burke, senior communications adviser for the Vatican, said today. “Twitter is turning out to be a very effective way of doing this.”

“Twitter for us is not about the number of people following the pope but about getting people to follow Christ,” Burke said.

Why doesn’t Christ worry about getting people to follow Christ? Why doesn’t Christ get a twitter account and speak for himself?

Because God and Christ are imaginary.

Isn’t it amazing how staying silent and hidden is just as important to the christian god as it is to every other god? Weird….or not!

Except that in the days before recording devices, when literacy and education were vastly lower than now, and story telling was a primary means of communication, so many different gods and goddesses had no problem in making personal appearances or performing miracles on demand. Strange, or what!

Let us look at the logic as offered by Thomas.

God doesn’t have a Twitter account
More seriously, God does not speak. (sic)
Therefore God and Christ are imaginary.

Are the above conclusions logical? No, of course not. First, atheists make the assumption that because they do not acknowledge God’s existence He does not exist. They assume that they do not hear from God in an audible voice that He does not exist. Both conclusions are false.

So why, in your estimation, does God not have a Twitter account?

Why has the Bible never been updated for 2,000 years?

Why does God never speak so we all can hear?

Does God speak to you? If so, what does he say to you?

“Let us look at the logic as offered by Thomas.”

He didn’t offer any logic, he offered an explanation.

ASS, why do you always have to lie in a weak attempt to make point?

You are, as I commented before, a pathological liar. And there’s no logic required to determine that. All one must do is read your comments.

“First, atheists make the assumption that because they do not acknowledge God’s existence He does not exist.”

    Another outright lie by ASS.

First of, all atheists make no such assumption.

Second, as a matter of fact, religion (faith), is by definition, the assumption (belief) that something for which there is no evidence exists.

Thomas, Jesus speaks to all of us, everyday.

These days he does not use words to comunticate with us, he causes things to happen in our lives that will help us to become morally good people.

The reason that the pope tweets now is because he wants to spead the word of Fod to everyone.

There are many people on twitter these days and tweeting seems to be a good way to reach them.

Jesus does not need anyone to spead his message.

The Pope and all of the other people who spead Jesus’s word are more of a want than a need.

If we learn to spread his message to others, it help us better to better understand Jesus’s message too.

I opine that god does not twitter for the same reason Zeus does not twitter…

    Nor do demons…

    Nor fairies…

No invisible penguins have a twitter account as far as I know either.

Apparently, to twitter, you need to be a living thing. And living things are made of cells.

Gods appear to be made of the same stuff as imaginary beings… and imaginary beings are simply not capable of twittering.

Martin, doesn’t it occur to you that any real gods could tweak things so that humans would believe whatever they wanted them to believe if human belief was important to them? What’s the point of being omnipotent if you just use your powers to create things that disappoint you? Who has a god to blame but himself if he’s disappointed? There really is no excuse for a god to be disappointed– especially not an omniscient god for godsakes! Unless it’s the sort of god that likes dicking around with people for the fun of it– which sounds more like a demon than any gods worthy of worship.

Why would a real god need to manipulate people into belief with promises of salvation, threats of hell, unclear books, bizarre texts, etc. when he could just be clear? A real god should be distinguishable from a demon…or a mythological god… or a schizophrenic delusion, don’t you think?

No, fool, the part he left out was this:

Messenger is a troll who only comes to this blog in order to post disruptive and antagonistic comments.

Starving the messenger character of the attention he is unable to obtain in real life will drive him to make ever escalating nasty and ridiculous comments as his true character surfaces. Once he understands that he can no longer function here as an attention-whore, he’ll be forced to slink away, probably muffing up his flounce.

    tl;dr, don’t feed the troll

I am amazed that string theory and the theoretical physicists postulate a multiverse and alternate universes and do not get derided….. Yet if some one postulates an alternative plane that is different fom our universe he is a fool if he suggests or implies that alternative universe might be spiritual.

It surprises me how easily we accept that material life evolves and changes over eons, and we accept Einsteins relativity which demonstrates that matter and energy are two forms of the same thing….. Yet suggest non-material evolution or consciousness (remembering material and energy are two forms of the same thing) could occur and you are a fool.
