A child is poisoned by Christian doctrine

Child’s ‘Ain’t No Homos Gonna Make It To Heaven’ Church Performance Goes Viral

The congregation in the church, which has been identified as the Apostolic Truth Tabernacle Church in Greensburg, Ind., gives a standing ovation after the child sings, “I know the Bible’s right, somebody’s wrong…ain’t no homos gonna make it to heaven.”

Imagine the mind of a Christian. Whenever looking at a human being of the LGBT persuasion, the thought running through the mind is, “an all-powerful god is going to torture that LGBT person in hell forever!” How does such poisonous, violent nonsense affect the worldview, outlook and relationships of a Christian? How does it help society in any way?

You don’t have a problem with the church, you have a problem with God.

Feel free to tell Him how unfair He is. It didn’t work out too well for Job.

I mention at least a half a dozen times a day how much God sucks. It’s working out just fine and has been for over a decade.

PS: I don’t believe in God, so maybe that’s why it doesn’t work. I mention how much God sucks completely as a linguistic construction designed to make fun of theists that actually believe in a God.

How can you not believe in god? Haven’t you heard of the bible? It tells all about god! What do you think, somebody just made all that crazy shit up? God is real because god said he is real. Don’t piss him off! He has a wicked bad temper… but he loves you.

BrianE…. tell us why god made homosexuals if he doesn’t want people to be homosexual? Why didn’t he make everyone straight?

Is a sad situation, I agree. However, this speaks to the person, not to God.

As for “Christian Doctrine” – while many Christians do follow the belief that Homosexuality is a sin, others do not.

“tell us why god made homosexuals if he doesn’t want people to be homosexual? Why didn’t he make everyone straight?”

I like this question and though I disagree with the following answer, I do believe that it provides a bit of insight as to WHY a Christian would belief homosexuality to be a sin:

I would like to answer to the lyrics: ” “I know the Bible’s right, somebody’s wrong…ain’t no homos gonna make it to heaven.”

the last part…”ain’t no homos gonna make it to heaven.”

This is a judgement statement. One this kid, nor anyone can actually make. Certainly one thing Jesus made clear: we don’t KNOW who’s going to make it to heaven, because we aren’t God…and we might even be a bit suprised at who IS in heaven.

This lyric 1) puts the singer ABOVE God as the arbiter of who’s in/who’s out. 2) dare I say, even seeks to tell God who’s in/out. 3) asserts knowledge that the singers certainly doesn’t have.

This is why I say it speaks to the person, not to God.

God doesn’t make homosexuals any more than He makes alcoholics. People chose to be homosexual or they have had incidents in their childhood that cause them to lean in that direction.

It is a condition they need treatment for. It really is quite that simple. Only 2.8% of the American population suffer from the condition. Not near as many as GLAD would like us believe.

    BOZO

    “God doesn’t make homosexuals”

Correct. And your god does not create humans either, alcoholic or otherwise. God does not make fish, or antelope, or bacteria. My kids were created by ME…with a little help from the wife. (as an aside, we were “married” outside a church – Just like a homosexual might get “married”- (Civil ceremony/Civil union) but people still think that we really are married) Continuing….You see we did the horizontal waltz and some months later out popped a kid. 3 times we managed to produce yard apes. Don’t remember seeing a god doing any of the grunt work.

“It is a condition they need treatment for”

So, how would one treat a gay person? Does throwing bibles do the trick? 12 step societies? Testing them if they float? Do they need a talking to from the BOZO?

One of the very few true comments that you ever posted here.

“People chose to be homosexual or they have had incidents in their childhood that cause them to lean in that direction.”

God doesn’t make stupid people. Did you choose to be stupid?

“It is a condition they need treatment for.”

Like homosexuality, there’s no treatment for stupidity. So, sorry, you’re out of luck.

“It really is quite that simple. Only 2.8% of the American population suffer from the condition. Not near as many as GLAD would like us believe.”

At least you can take some comfort in knowing that a much greater proportion of the population is stupid than is gay.

I know I’m better then these people anyways…..since I don’t slander churches every chance I get to crowds of people that trust me, it’s pretty easy to ignore their foolish hatred when I’ve moved passed it before they have (or ever can).

Matt, that’s a lot of vague, unsubstantiated, twaddle.

Are you going to back that up with specific examples? Slander to crowds of people every chance someone gets ought to be trivial. Let’s see you back it up.

By the way, why do you still have this persecution complex? It comes out every post you make. Perhaps you should move past imagining that people hate you as well as imagining that the creator of the universe is your bff.

YOU ARE WRONG NOT TO BELIEVE IN GOD!!!!! GOD IS GREAT AND HE HAS DONE MANY GOOD THINGS IN OUR LIVES, YOU JUST CHOOSE NOT TO SEE IT. AND FOR DOING THAT YOU ARE VERY VERY WRONG. GOD LOVES ALL OF US AND IF YOU KEEP THIS UP THEN WHEN YOU DIE YOU ARE GOING TO GO TO HELL.

Hey, Anonymous in 15 – #16, Matt D was unable to back up his claims and his post remains as a nice example of how Christians love to play the victim but don’t actually have the goods with which to back up their claims.

    How will you fare?

First, you need to establish which god you are referring to. There are thousands of gods to choose from and some gods claim thousands of sects within their ranks.

Then you need to prove this this god exists.

Then you need to prove this this good is great.

Then you need to prove this this god has done good things and don’t just assert it, prove it.

Then you need to prove that this god loves us *ALL*. You said all, so you need to prove it.

Then you need to prove that hell exists.

Then you need to prove that some people go to hell when they die and, specifically, that none-believers go to hell. Again, don’t assert it, prove it.

Of course, now you need to explain how someone that loves us *ALL* would send people to hell and how that is a loving act.

    And that’s just a start.

So, go ahead, prove that you’re not delusional because you certainly sound like you are.

I feel s sorry, im deeply hurt by the comments and viewpoints here in this site. If there is no god, let yourself get into trouble, let your family or kids be taken hostage or your life threatened. Who do you call on, yourself, what happens to you when you die? You people know and believe that God exists otherwise you wouldnt try so hard to prove that he doesent. Oh by the way, who gave you the drive, the want to, the ability to even be able to not believe in somthing? The fact that you have a yearning to be hear, to disprove somthing proves that you are wrong. But, what if im wrong? What happens to me, reincarnation, turn to dust, what? But, what if im right and you do burn in everlasting torment, im either dust, or im eternal, im banking on eternal. God open the eyes of your hearts.

Quinn, don’t get mad. Get even.

Do what no-one has ever been able to do – ever. Proof to us that (trying not to fall off my chair laughing) a god, any god, exists.

Take your pick. Which one are you going for? Ra? Thor. Zeus. Odin? But don’t be limited there, you can pick any of the gods man has invented to make soothe his passage through life.

    Go on. Do it.

If you can’t then please do go join the long line of fools that have posted a pity-play (like you did) when they realize that we’re not going to buy their delusional crap.

tl;dr. Poor, liddle, widdle, Quinn, got his feelings hurt because it was pointed out to him that his invisible friend wasn’t real.

  20. on 04 Aug 2012 at 5:21 am 20.DPK said …

Quinn doesn’t seem to comprehend that one cannot just “decide” to believe in something because it seems a safer bet. That’s not belief.
sounds like he already knows his beliefs are silly and unfounded. He’s just hedging his bet.
Tell you what Quinn… if you want us to believe in your imaginary god, how us some evidence that he actually exists. The fact that you love in fear of burning in hell for not believing, isn’t evidence. Remember, if you are a christian, a good many people in the work believe you are going to hell anyway, because you have chosen to believe in the wrong god. Actually, considering all the thousands of gods humans have invented throughout history, all demanding worship and obedience, and all threatening punishment for failure to do so, the odds of you actually picking the “correct” god to worship are actually pretty slim.
So, how about it? Convince us you know something we don’t.

I was taught, when I was about 7 or 8, that anyone who admits his/her “sins” (“dear god I have sinned”) and nicely asks god for forgiveness, WILL reach heaven, eventually.
I was said even the worst criminals can reach the heaven if they tell the god the right words (maybe after waiting for some time in – what? – Purgatory, limbo, but what is “some time” compared to eternity?).

Are the gays excluded? Are their “sins” so much bigger than “sins” of criminals?

What if a gay, at his dying day, finds the right words to address to god?

    Suffer? SUFFER?
You mean like “suffer from cancer”, or “suffer from Alzheimer”?
So you DO agree that that being a homosexual was not THEIR choice?
