Proof: God is imaginary.

Maybe God told them all to run for president so the rest of us could see how stupid and deluded they all are.

(Notice that, according to each of them, God suggested they run but didn’t tell them they would win.)

And, although Tim Pawlenty didn’t hear the call himself. It was his campaign manager, Nick Ayers, who said in an email that he had planned to sit out the 2012 campaign, but God had called him to “a higher purpose” — getting Pawlenty elected. Pawlenty dropped out of the race in last August.

So, I guess that makes God 0-5

Great point, Lou. Those damn “nutty” people who are rational, intelligent, those prone to not believing in a man living three days in the belly of a whale and talking donkeys and, you know, a whole host of other unimaginable things! Wait a second, can you define “nutty” for me… by your definition? Perhaps you should run for prez, Lou? Maybe you can pick up the right’s dregs who believe in such magic as you do? They’re just as willfully ignorant as you are so proud of being. Just a thought ;)

Funny thing is, and I know Lou-II won’t find it particularly amusing, is that we could easily list 1000 or more gods that Lou-II doesn’t believe in. So the only thing that really separates him from the “nutty atheists” is belief in one particular invisible being that the majority of the world does not believe in.
It says so much about the fantasy world in which people like Lou-II live in that their definition of “nutty” means NOT believing in invisible, magic friends who hear your thoughts and grant you wishes based on how faithfully you believe in them.
Yeah, you’re not deluded at all Lou-II.
    hahahahaha

Yes, it really is quite ironic, isn’t it, and pathetic, a theist’s definition of nutty. Gods bless their little fairy tale believing hearts! If they were’nt so dangerous they’d almost be cute! But I, as a person who has empathy for the insane, can’t give up the dream that perhaps one day they will all realise they’ve been in cults of ignorance and will seek whatever kind of help it is that will bring them round to reality, and then the world will be free, free, free from — drum roll, please — CRAZY. A girl can always dream. (sigh)

It’s such an Alice in Wonderland existence they live in. A while back I referenced Sam Harris’ quote about how strange it was that people thought nothing about George Bush claiming he talked to god every day, whereas if he had said he talked to god everyday through his hairdryer it would trigger national security crisis… and the only difference between the 2 statements was the addition of a hair dryer.
HorBiffBoz-a-ma-jig (or one of them, they’re all the same to me) jumped all over me. “That’s a complete logical fallacy! George Bush never said he talked to god through his hair dryer! You’re a liar!”

They know they are in the rabbit hole as well, they just keep that part of reality suppressed. Otherwise, why don’t they do like Jesus said and sell everything they own and not worry about where their next meal is coming from. Why don’t they take Jesus’ advice about how a rich man cannot enter the kingdom of heaven and divest of all their worldly goods, like Jesus did? When they get sick, why don’t they go to a priest instead of a doctor, and let god take care of them like he does the birds of the air?
Not to mention all the stoning and stuff they don’t do. I would venture to say most people fall into the Mark Twain category of “Faith is believing stuff you know ain’t true..”

The political term “Left” derives from the French Revolution, where radicals were seated on the left hand side of Parlement’s leading officer. The term “Left” has consistently applied to radicals promoting government interventionism for social control.

Leftist radicals have favored egalitarianism and socialism and are typically “hostile to the interests of traditional elites, including the wealthy and members of the aristocracy”, starting in 18th century Europe, especially France with hostility to kings, royalists and ecclesiasts, and then moving toward conservatives, capitalists and ecclesiasts as is done today.

Today, the Left believes in operating by the principles for radicals outlined by Saul D. Alinsky, all of which are pragmatic and without any absolute morals to restrain any actions whatsoever. In fact Alinsky addresses the “ethics” issue by declaring that the only unethical action that exists is not to take the available action at hand. The actual moral value of the action is not the point, nor is there any ethic to be applied to the longer range objectives, which are assumed to be ethical a priori: just because. In other words, the Leftist Radical is the very source of ethics: the Leftist Radical is the elite class.

The elitist, relativist, complete lack of external, absolute moral guidance is one of the strongest forces linking Atheism to Leftism. The Atheist religious organizations – free thinkers, humanists etc – are all elitist, Leftist, and organized under principles of pragmatic, self-derived ethics, which are relativist and readily modified to meet the circumstance at hand.

The intellectual link between Atheism and the Left is so strong that it is hard to tell the difference between the two categories. The categories are largely populated by the same individuals.

This brings to mind the subject of faux-Catholics and other faux-religious types that populate the Left. The simple issue of abortion – the right of a human individual to live – separates out these phonies. The “Catholicism” of Pelosi, Biden, Kennedy – all denounced by the bishopric – as well as the tenuous “God’s Partner” Christianity of Obama, is surface dressing only, a necessary pragmatic political cosmetic. Their real agenda is always a totally self-derived ethic, with never a thought for any absolute morality. They are Leftist elitists, whose religion is pragmatism and self-aggrandizement: Atheists, to be sure.

Of course there are Atheists who are social and fiscal conservatives. I was one such. But I suspect that these, like myself, have co-opted Judeo-Christian morals while rejecting the source of those morals. And by rejecting the source, the morals become relative, with associated “new” ethics slowly and inevitably rising out of the classist elitism of the Atheist mind-set. Under Atheism, the worldview migration is always away from absolutes and the source of absolutes, and toward relativist elitism and all the features of that.

Atheism spawns self-aggrandizement, which spawns elitism, which spawns political Leftist radicalism. The gravitation toward the Left is inexorable.

By the same token, Leftism repels those who cherish Truth, that incorrigible absolute.

This leaves the Left with Atheist / Materialists, relativism and no morals.

The Age of Enlightenment ended in Europe with threatened governments reacting by crushing the movement. It had become apparent that the Atheist lack of substantial moral underpinnings would result not in “reasoned self-government” but in elitist pogroms like the bloody French Terror. Even in France the Atheist dictatorship remained and morphed into the dictatorial reign of self-crowned Napoleon – equality and fraternity without liberty. Only in America did vestiges of the Enlightenment remain, under the moral absolute restraints of theism (human rights endowed by a creator). Leftists streamed out of Europe, coming to America where they became Leftist agitators in the US political system.

41YA, that would explain a lot of things, indeed.

For example, anyone armed with something as simple as a box of band-aids and some antibiotic ointment would seem like a magical healer compared to the primitive knowledge of the people who wrote the bible.

Perhaps the reasons that Jesus no longer answer prayers is that the battery on his smart-phone died. That or his plan didn’t cover inter-galactic roaming.

Certainly this approach is more likely than the outside-of-time-and-space-except-when-he-isn’t excuses used in an attempt to explain the non-existent nature of the deity du jour.

Actually… who does this quote remind you of?

“Indeed, the way in which Jesus is appreciated could be viewed to be an axiomatic mass-deception context in human history. It was socially engineered to mislead humanity into its prevailing course self-destruction. The image of Jesus was used to create an organized religion, which was then used to create Western governments with historical links to modern Christianity.
The power of these institutions was then used to spread oppressive Empires, which led to the birth and development of Big Business interests, that now operate as part of a globalized military-religious-political-industrial complex.”

As I already wrote (and, of course, never got any answer from theists), some 40 year ago, when I was student, there was a Muslim guy in the dorm who liked me and contacted almost exclusively with me, privately. He tried to convert me from atheism to Islam.
He gave me hundreds of examples how god grants prayers of himself and his mother: they both prayed god for many things that became real in his life, and he was very thankful to god.

Then, of course, I’ve heard many examples of granted prayers from orthodox Christians, Catholics and other Muslims.

I can also say that many and many of my own wishes were granted although I never prayed to anyone.

WHO answer prayers of Muslims, orthodox Christians, Catholics, atheists…
I think it must be Jesus, or …?

I BEG theists to explain this phenomenon to me!

I have no explanation but coincidence.

    Enlighten me, please!

I can add here also some granted prayers of a Jewish lady I used to know some time ago.
For example she told me she prayed to god to meet me, and she met me.
Nevertheless, god did not answer her prayer to have nice and expensive shoes, not at that time.
I saw expensive shoes on her feet some 20 years ago when I met her again, so there must be true (True?) that god has 3 answers to prayers: “yes”, “no” and “later”.

I only can not understand WHO that extremely liberal god might be!?
    Jesus? Allah? Jehovah?

    All of them?

    Coincidence?

Speaking of which, did you ever think about 40ASS’s meaning of that idiotic explanation for lack of evidence for god? Outside of time and space means DEAD.

  42. on 14 Apr 2012 at 6:19 pm 42.DPK said …

Not necessarily dead. I mean, when the chemical processes that are you cease to function and you die, the atoms that make up your body remain part of the physical universe. So death doesn’t mean you then transcend space and time. You are recycled.

OTOH, if Jesus exists “outside of space and time” the that mean he is not part of what we know as the physical universe. No evidence for that, but as 40 yr claims, how could we expect there to be. But then the big problem arises. 40yr and the other theists claim that Jesus, or whatever the god du jour is, interacts and intercedes in the physical world every day. He listens to your thoughts, and saves you from car accidents, cures your athlete’s foot, helps you get a promotion at work, allows you to move mountains and handle poisonous snakes.. or maybe not, depends on how he’s feeling that day. He also hold the entire universe together and causes new species to magically appear without any ancestors. He also wants you to eat his body and drink his blood, and allows his non-physical and non-temporal form to be manifest in crackers and fermented grape juice for our reverent consumption thousands of times a day. Oh, and he loves us and needs us to convince other people that he is, in fact real… without ever providing any real reason to think so other than it makes us feel good to think we will live forever in a magical kingdom far, far away and be eternally happy.
    Ok.

Talk about a theological cluster f*ck! I’ve often wondered how many actually believed this crap. Talk about adding doubt onto the already doubt-fueled brainwashed.

Thing about anything in the bible is that you can interpret it to mean most anything you want. Why are there something like 38,000 different xtian “sects” all claiming to know the truth of what god’s word says. They can’t all be right, correct? But they can all be wrong.
I had a “discussion” with a xtian once about the NT story where Jesus is asked how to get into heaven. Jesus replies “sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven, and come and follow me.”
I wanted to know why he hadn’t done that. He replied that Jesus was just talking to one person, and that he meant THAT person had to do that… everyone else needn’t bother with THAT shit.
Really? So Jesus, speaking to a crowd and knowing that his words would be transcribed into the holy book that will become the totality of god’s communication with his beloved creation, when asked a profound and vitally important question about how to enter the kingdom of heaven, meant… “Well… THAT guy over there needs to sell everything he has, give it to the poor, and then come follow me! The rest of you don’t need to do that crazy ass shit, just believe in me and I’ll hook you up!

Yeah, that’s in the bible, along with how to correctly sell your daughter as a sex slave and how you shouldn’t eat shrimp and lobster because it’s an abomination.

You cannot know and will not know God as your bias leads you by the nose into the blind abyss. Your motive in proving God doesn’t exist is born of ignorance and fear. You don’t know that, nor do you have the capability to understand. This in itself will anger you. You are most vulnerable as you know nothing as to why you exist. Live the paradox and proclaim your nothing. The proof that God exists is beyond your comprehension. Your pea brains are your limiting devices. Lead your pathetic lives in your scientific search of that which will only elude you. We poke fun at idiots too. And that would be you. Are we angry yet as we clamber to reply? Your point? You have none. What a pathetic lot.

LOL @ Anne Onymous. With all the documentation proving beyond any doubt that high intelligence and education are directly related to atheism, and imbecility and little education are in direct correlation to the delusional. So we pea brains aren’t too insulted when a delusional, arrogant, ignorant, blowhard as yourself slams us, we can always rest assured that you can’t even spell anonymous. When an evidence free argument like yours appears we all dismiss it without need for evidence. Try a little harder to embarrass yourself more next time. Laughter is the best medicine, and theist with no proof of what they’re driveling about are always good for a laughing jag. Thanks Anne of Inanity.

So Oh Inane One, please do tell us pea brains what’s so obvious that we’re missing. LMFAO!!!!

Btw, don’t all you brainwashed children of a Jealous, vengeful, mysoginistic, genocidal, totalitarian, madman ever think for yourselves? You don’t find all the failed prophecies (including Jesus’s promise to return before his generation was over), the endless contadictions, and the fact that independent of scripture, not one of the 80 plus writers and historians alive when JeeBus was alledgedly living didn’t write one word about the killer of an out of season fig tree? Especially Philo of Judea the most famous of all who was in Jerusalem the day of the alledged crucifixtion, the attending earthquake, and the opening of graves with the dead coming alive and walking about town window shopping, or whatever the dead find entertaing. Who says the Bable isn’t full of laughs? I just love the part where he drives demonds into pigs. When he cured a blind girl why didn’t he just cure blindness in general? I know why, and I’m a high IQ. college grad whose pea brain can even figure that one out. Btw, what are you freaks called? Atom brains? I also get a good laugh at the thought that an invisible man in the sky can create the universe, but mistranslate a simple word like alma. But here’s the funniest of all: ” Let a wave of intolerance wash over you…a wave of hatred…Yes, hate is good…Our goal is a Chrstian Nation… we have abiblical duty, we are called to conquer this country. We don’t want equal time. We don’t want pluralism. We want theocracy”- Randall Terry. Gee, what a great imbecilic US. moron, eh? A couple of M-16 shots to his small frontal lobes would make my day. Please come to Indy Gruesom Ransom. I’ll be waiting you prick. Muhahahahahaha…

Bible historians have closed the book on finding an atom of evidence to support the historical existance of Abraham, David, and Moses, and soon Jeebus is will live on in comic books. Get out of this massive denial freaks. One would think rather surely that the Moses story would not only open the incredulas eyes of the most ardent of believers, but also send them into painful laughing jags. Here’s a man who had 600,000 citizens, and an army between 1 and 2 million men. So 2.6 million people wandering the Egytian desert for forty years, and no signs of any camp site, settlings, burial of animal grounds, or peep’s burial grounds. Nothing written in papyah, chisled in stone, and imagine the millions of livestock necessary to sustain them in a time you were considered ancient to live to forty.
Yet Moe fathered a child in his nineties. That would be similar to me banging my 9th wife at the age of 230-years-old. These ancient, ignorant, clueless superstitious yokels didn’t know about germs and viruses, but some laughable, wishful thinking twits will say they lived longer back then. LOL!!! How? They had not developed their immune systems, and it wasn’t uncommon for a man or woman to be felled by a common cold in their twenties and thirties. Closing the book on Jeebs is just around the corner, but delusions are crippling and evidence is useless to the “faithful.” Puke…..

I do want to admit I believe in Karma in the form of my sawed off 20 gauge Mossberg. But unlike good ole xian boys, I would never kill any human, or any other innocent creature. As we now have indisputable facts that the criminally minded are ratio wise over 300 times more likely to spend time in prison much like the Jebbus freak who walked into a Buffalo fitness center several years ago and killed 4 beautiful, innocent, young adults in cold blood.
Like these brain damaged Rapture kooks, which isn’t in the bable, and one vague line translated by a delusional 17th century minister that led to two orangatans who got hold of a wordprosser and created the “dishelved” left behind series, the killer then only took his life (apparently unable to face his own personal demise alone), so wtf? Take several innocent along jeebus freak? His suicide note read, “by the time you read this I’ll be with Jeebus because It’s not my actions, but my belief in slaughtering innocents.” Bullshit, bullshit, bullshit!!!!! More facts? Agnostics and atheist finished 1-2 in a national bable quiz in 4/11, atheist have the lower divorce rate, etc., etc.,etc. May my Ruger bless yee.
