The peak of Christian delusion used to power a dating site

You have to see this one to believe it. They have taken Christian delusion and used to power a dating site:

Some of the amazing quotes from this ad:

Find God’s match for you at ChristianMingle.com

As though this omnipotent “God” couldn’t do it himself, without the need for this for-profit web site to accomplish his plan.

Sometimes we wait for God to make the next move, when God is saying it’s your time to act, to make the next move.

The website is here: Christianmingle.com

You control who you interact with and how much you share about yourself. Trust God and your God-given instincts to guide you through this experience.

If you can “trust God”, why go through all the BS of dating and dating sites? Why not let him pick your mate for you? There’s an easy answer to this question: Because God is imaginary.

Also, if God were involved in Christian marriages, why do most Christian marriages end in divorce?

I actually agree with an atheist.

There are soooooo many things like this. If christianity or one of it’s splinters represented reality you would expect to see an effect of that reality. Instead they seem no better or worse than any other religious group.

At 22 percent and with an error rate of 2% you can say with certainty that Atheists (and “Agnostics”) have the lowest divorce rates.

While correlation does not equal causation, I think that the habits that lead one to become an atheist are what make this occur. Concern for what is real and a willingness to always consider evidence will enable a couple to approach a potential relationship in a more honest and open fashion. These habits allowed my wife and I to be each others first relationship back in high school and sixteen years later we are more than happy.

Religions have too many mental strings attached that can prevent incompatible couples from becoming married (for example I think sex before marriage is a good thing here) and hurt efforts to fix a bad marriage (such as the wife having to play a subordinate role). Just to get it out of the way I know that my examples do not apply to every religion. That just means that whoever you are, you probably have a different potential hangup.

What is this guy talking about? Evidence? Real? This might work for an android but typically those who fall in love are not C3PO and R2D2.

Egad, is this Mr and Mrs Spock?

Yes that’s right, I use funny words so that automatically means that I must be robotic in my love life. Do you think someone is lazy if they have a Spanish accent too? Try not to be so bigoted even if it is more socially acceptable to do it to someone who tries to be more intellectual.

I’ll put it in a way you can understand.

Ditching all the social and religious bullshit that forces humans to act contrary to their natures and paying attention to each other, and things that really impact a relationship allow couples to be more successful in a relationship.

When you look for clues to how your spouse is feeling or how to make them feel better, that is “evidence”. When you ditch the fantasies and only pay attention to what is real when trying to work on a marriage, that is “reality”.

I found it hilarious that the “ChristianMingle” website had ads on during the movie “Dead Girl” on Chiller (a horror channel). I don’t know what “ChristianMingle” thought they were doing when they bought time during that movie but I had a good laugh. I’m guessing that they might have bought time in general and not had a clue about that specific movie.

Warning: Spoilers – so you can see how absurd the choice was.
“Dead Girl” was about some teen guys who find a female zombie chained to a bed in the basement of an abandoned institution. Some of them then use her for sex.

If you’re so confident that God is imaginary, why do you allow the the fact that others believe in Him and His Son upset you? If you’re so confident, wouldn’t you a.) feel bad for us who believe in a “lie” or b.) laugh at us silly Christians?

If I created a site where people who believe in big, scary monsters could date, would that upset you too?

Could it be that deep down, you do believe? Could it be that His Word isn’t convenient for a sinner like you (or me or anyone else… we’re all sinners) ?

Could it be that to have Faith of the Heart and become a humble servant of Christ would mean repenting (which doesn’t meant “stopping” but “turning away”) from sin, which you enjoy so much?

Why doesn’t God heal amputees? What makes you think he doesn’t? God heals all who accept him… for eternity. His kingdom is not of this world. Losing a limb, yes even losing a loved one … being tortured… going through any number of the horrible things that exist on this earth will mean nothing when your earthly body is dead.

Until you swallow your arrogance, become humble and accept the fact that you didn’t create yourself… the fact that you were born to know right from wrong … the fact that you were destined for much more than what the wicked one provides for and takes away from you, you will continue to hate God’s Word and God’s People.

But God won’t hate you. If you’re still breathing and you some day realize that you’re a sinner who needs saved (along with me and everyone else) he’ll accept you in the name of His Son, My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

You don’t have to stop sinning to be accepted by God. You just have to Love Him and His Son and be Humble. Once you do that the problem of sin will not be nearly as big of a problem as you think.
