You DO NOT Have A Personal Relationship With Jesus Christ

This is an in-your-face kind of video, but he speaks the truth. Christians do not have “A Personal Relationship With Jesus Christ”. It is not possible to have a relationship with an imaginary being who is invisible, silent and undetectable in any way:

But Christians insist that they can have a personal relationship with this imaginary creature. In the following video she talks about “one-on-one quality time with God”. As you listen to this women, you can hear the delusion. There is a “god” who can be ignored, and a “satan” who can’t be ignored – who is working to “steal your time with god”. If this “god” actually existed, wouldn’t he simply say something to keep the conversation going?

And as a juvenile, you didn’t understand humor even when I clearly labeled it as such with my “Seriously, doesn’t she understand…” comment.

“Lou must attack her looks than the content.”

Except that I didn’t. I made a joke about her heavy application of bronzer. As for the content, it doesn’t require an attack. It speaks for itself.

“Typical of the sexist wife beaters.”

Hmm, how would you know what’s typical of wife beaters? I don’t. Please explain. Please share your knowledge about wife beaters with us. And don’t tell us you also “took a class in college” about that, too.

I just listened to a video clip on Youtube entitled Prove that Jesus is Imaginary. This kind of treatment of the biblical text is the reason why individuals with little or no training in interpretative principles should be careful before they speak as authorities on what the Bible teaches. The reference to Matthew 18 as teaching that Jesus will appear to anyone who asks as along as two or three are gathered and agree to the prayer is a failure to consider what Matthew 18 is talking about. To just rip the concept “anything in My name and I will do it” from its context and think that one can ask anything without restrictions or limits is not an appropriate prayer for the context. Such a request given the context would amount to putting the Lord your God to a foolish test. The context of Matthew 18 has to do with restoring an offending brother to fellowship with God’s people and/or disciplining an offending brother who refuses to acknowledge his sin against a person or people of God. The two or three that must agree are those who represent the church, elders or the like, who are involved in resolving the situation for the good of both the brother and the church to the glory of God. This, of course, would presuppose that the request is according to the will of God and is borne of and consistent with the Scriptures as opposed to a request that is not. Why is it that so often the reader who misunderstands the teaching of the Scriptures imputes the problem to the text and not to himself? If the individual who submitted that video clip to Youtube was really interested in how to properly understand Matthew 18, he would have consulted a pastor of a Bible-believing church who has dealt with difficult texts over and over again in the course of his ministry and is able to explain how such texts fit into the purpose of the first century writer who penned Matthew and carefully selected his episodes from among the earthly ministry of Jesus. It is ashame that instead of seeking light, someone has to grind an axe because they have difficulty believing that one can indeed have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. If and when one gets his or her heart right with God and believes that the Son of God suffered and died in his or her place to satisfy God’s offended holiness and exacting justice toward human sins, God will enter that person’s life in an intimate and personal manner. Whoever genuinely believes the good news and calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. That is a promise from God. Now, see if God is a liar. And remember, His Son came with authenticating miracles and displays of power, not to mention His sinless and perfectly pure life while living among the human race, to confirm and credentialize His identity and His message.

Neither your word, nor the word of the bible is credible enough to negate the lack of adequate evidence. You will never convince any Atheist of anything. If you kept your beliefs to yourself you might build a respectful relationship with someone on this site, but spouting craziness will only alienate you.

I just find it rather silly to even think that an all knowing perfect creator would craft his most important communication with his beloved creation in a fashion that requires a legion of silver haired preachers and silk robed and bejeweled theologians to explain to us what he “really meant”.
You have to admit, that’s pretty laughable. God would certainly have been a better writer than Shakespeare, don’t you think?

I once struggled through a painful 30 page dissertation by some Roman Catholic theologian on why the communion wafer and wine maintained all the physical appearances of wine and crackers, even though they had in fact, been physically transformed into the literal body and blood of Jesus. Yes, if there are any Catholics here, you may not even know it, but one of the tenets of your faith is that during consecration, the bread and wine is physically transformed in the actual (not figurative, not symbolic) the actual, literal, human living flesh and blood of Jesus… and then you consume it. If you are Catholic and don’t believe that… you are in denial of your faith and are going to hell.
Now, a 4 year old can tell you that the reason the wine and bread still looks like wine and bread because it IS still wine and bread and no magical transformation has occurred. But legions of theologians have actually crafted tedious, mind numbingly stupid rationalizations to explain why god, while IN FACT performing the transformation to real flesh and blood, at the same time maintains the illusion that the physical properties of the bread and wine have not changed… bit that of course, is just an illusion.

I was very surprise to read about your articles about the non existence of GOD. It seem that you do not know what you are talking about and completely did not understand what the Bible is teaching those who read it. Most of the time you are asking a lot of questions about physical and emotional self. You seem to be lost and very pitiful to yourself. YES GOD EXIST IN EVERY WAY that you can imagine. Look at all the creations that God create around you(from the tiniest virus to the biggest animals on this planet. Can you, science and anybody create a living person with out using what God has created? Can you answer this question. You call JESUS a liar? just because JESUS said that “Ask in my name and I will do it for you”. If JESUS is stupid enough to do what ever you want, you will end up destroying yourself and the whole world. What JESUS said is that ask what is right in the sigh of GOD and not asking for sex, money, drugs, girls, boys, power, murder, rape and so on. JESUS will not answer your prayer right away but He will see your HEART if you really mean what you ask and that you really believe. You do not become a hypocrite in front of GOD. God is spirit so you must pray in your spirit. Look at God with the eyes of your spirit and God will look through your very soul. This is a real story I am going to tell you about a man who died about 8-hours and was confirmed by Doctors from a government hospital. He came back to life 8 hours later in his longhouse where his families kept his dead body. When he got up, he told his family members(wife, sons and daughters)that the only man who knows the way to bring him back to life is the man in the picture on the wall(which is the picture of JESUS CHRIST) This man is not a christian and is not a believer in Christ so he do not know who JESUS is. The world of the living and the dead is separated by a very thin and unseen wall. In this world everybody want physical proof to everything they want. Life becomes meaningless when this kind of though creep into our mind and take control of our life. LET US BELIEVE IN JESUS AND LET WISDOM RULES OUR LIFE WHICH WILL GIVE MEANING TO THE LIFE OF EVERY HUMAN BEING ON THIS PLANET. THANK YOU. GOD BLESS US ALL ABUNDANTLY.

Seriously? How did THIS escape the international news?
I would think that a man being resurrected from the dead would make headlines all over the world, especially in this day and age of instant world wide communication! How come we haven’t seen this on CNN… or even perhaps Fox (haha… they’d surely report it!)
Tell us please, who is this man? Where did this occur? Who where the doctors who “declared him dead”? Who witnessed this resurrection? Details please!
Since he is the only person, aside from Jesus, (and Lazarus… they always forget poor Lazarus) who has returned from the dead, surely god must have some amazing, mind blowing purpose for him. What is he doing now? Why did god choose him, and him alone to be risen?

Sorry, Wiseman. Your post reeks of brainwashed religious mumbo-jumbo with no substantiation. Your resurrection story is nothing more than BS and urban legend.
I really do not doubt your sincerity, but please try to realize that if you had happened to be born in Afghanistan, odds are strong you would be saying the exact same thing about Allah, and declaring Jesus a fraud. If you happened to have been born in ancient Greece, you would be saying the exact same thing about Zeus. If you had been born in the ancient Aztec culture, you would be advocating human sacrifice to Quetzalcoatl, the sun god.

The human mind if very susceptible to hallucination and delusion, especially when supported by social conventions. This is not a claim, this is well documented by looking at hundreds and hundreds of failed religions and discarded deities. Yours is no different, you just refuse to see the obvious. Such is the definition of a delusion.

BTW, your contention that my life is meaningless without belief in your god is spoken arrogantly and capriciously. Not only are there BILLIONS of people who live meaningful lives without belief in YOUR particular god, there are millions more, myself among them, who live full, rich, and very meaningful lives without the accompaniment of an invisible friend. Your statements are very judgmental and self serving with absolutely no basis in reality.

Which part of it was proved?

    For example the BF:
    1.
How did Noah arrange to get kangaroos, gorillas, polar bears, colibris, armadillos…(etc, fill the blank with some 50,000 or more other species that never lived close to Noah’s place, but thousands of miles far from him.
    He did not?
Then the BF did not occure as Bible describes (= Bible is lying).
    2.
Using VERY simple arithmetic combined with simple geometry (volume of the spheres with different diameters), we can easily calculate thet some 3x more water was necessary to cover the highest peak, as Bible describes (Mt. Everest), than present on earth. Lets say god had some “spare water” (where?), but was it SALTY WATER?
If salinity of oceans decreased 3x in such a short period of few days/weeks, all fishes would die in all oceans.
How did god fight this problem?
What with whales, dolphins…did Noah bring them all to his boat?

    Bible disproved!

How is it debatable? Once all humanity is extinct, then all human life was meaningless. Furthermore, once you’re dead, all human life is meaningless to you. Once you’re dead, as far as you’re concerned, you never existed. Even when we’re alive, life is only meaningful to us. Hence, a false belief in an afterlife.

Human life has no meaning to the universe. There’s no meaning to life. It’s a very simple concept. Perhaps difficult for some to accept, but very, very simple to understand.

The authority and “matter of factness” displayed in your post does not change the fact that neither you nor anyone else knows the future of humanity or the cosmos. Yes; once I’m dead my life to me will have been in vain. Human life having no meaning to the universe does not strip it of all meaning absolutely. Every life has natural and personal meaning to our species and the individual. You are probably correct, but are also usually more careful in your wording, and cannot know your claims outside of hindsight.

Just as you and I reject theism (and most likely for the same reasons), I also reject the idea that (human) life, in and of itself, has meaning. Life has no more meaning than any other phenomenon in the universe. It simply exists until it’s extinct.

I agree that human life, and the human species, has no importance to the universe. We are an insignificant blink of an eye, cosmologically speaking.
But a life has meaning while we live it, and to those we loved, and loved us. My father’s life had meaning because I loved him, and he gave me life, and even more importantly, he made my children possible.

This all depends on the definition of “meaning”. At the personal level, I would agree that there definitely is meaning, to family, friends, via experiences and events that happen throughout your life. But I would also agree that in the “larger scheme of things” – i.e. across the universe, your life overall has no meaning. The universe will persist long after you cease to exist as an entity.

That’s what makes life so valuable, so fragile and so worthwhile. You only get one, single shot. Your life only happens once. Thus people should make the absolute effort to make it as a positive experience as they possibly can, for both themselves and for others.

I get a kick out of the fact that my body contains elements forged in stars. And that long after I am dead, these elements will be continually reused and recycled. Now that’s awesome. :)

The soul – another unfounded belief. Why is it so difficult to understand and accept that when you die you will simply cease to exist? You will simply return the same state you were in before you were born – nonexistence. Death is a very easy concept to understand because you’ve already experienced it.

As you may not be a believer of JESUS, you always think of your physical life in this physical world which is full of challenges, pain, disappointment and ignorance. You must look at think further, wider and wiser. Think of the spiritual world and how you can be part of it one day. If there is good things, there must be also bad things. If there is physical body, there must also be a spiritual body. We have male and female. We have man and woman. It was so simple and yet you do not understand all of this. Or because we “have male and female”?

Horses have bodies, males and females.
According to your logic, horses have rich spiritual lives.

„My life has great meaning because of Jesus.“

I don’t need some 2000 years old zombie to make my life meaningful.
My daughter, in the first place, then all other people I love, bring great joy to my heart, and make my life meaningful, in my eyes, my daughter’s eyes and eyes of all other people I love.

If Jesus brings more meaning in your life than PEOPLE you love (children, parents, friends, woman), then I am very sorry for you.
You do not know what life is, you do not know what love is.

    41 Horatio,
If you explaint how Noah brought kangaroos to the arc, this will be a small step for you, and a great step in our understanding of Bible.

We need arguments. We don’t care for calling us names (arrogant, ignorant…), but those aren’t arguments.

So, Horatio, simple question: how did Noah bring kangaroos to the arc?

“What sad lives these guys have.”

    You think so?
Why don’t you ask rather than guess?

    I have a GREAT life!
I am living “1000 mph”, not to lose a moment of this wonderful phenomena I was lucky to personally enjoy in.
Because I know that, when I die, I will be dead for ever, and will never again have oportunity to injoy life.
