God is a myth

Would you like to confirm for yourself that God is a myth? This will help:

“God is a Myth”

So will this web site:

God is a myth!

I am a former Pentecostal evangelist turned atheist. I have decided to write a blog where I share my ideas regarding the biblical God and other myths.

Recently, I went on a mission trip to India. We walked around a village, dirt-poor, with the river dual-functioning as a latrine.

We worked at this Christian school in the village; basically a hut filled with little children wanting to know about God. And why did they want to know Him? Because they had nothing. Their pool was their toilet. While we were teaching them english vocab words, such as “jar”, they had no idea what that was. Every 2-year old american boy can point to a jar. Not these kids.

These kids all had different stories. Some lived by themselves, for their parents had left. Some had some pretty strange diseases. Some were malnurished. But they loved having us teens come and love on them. We played games with them, held them, swung them in our arms. How can you explain the joy they felt by having us come and hanging out with them? Some biological, neural impulses? Or the love of God.

We also walked around the village, and saw a man with a paralyzed arm. He had been paralyzed for 2 years, and after we prayed for him, he was healed. A crowd came around us, and by prayer, 4 more people were healed.

I didn’t write this to convince you that God exists. You don’t have to believe me. This response isn’t about you. I’m just telling you what I’ve seen God do in places I didn’t even know existed.

You can hate me. You can disagree with me. It really doesn’t bother me at all. I just want you to see what I believe to be true. You can do with it what you want.

    Why would anyone hate you?

Can you kindly explain to us why your god does not apply the same mercy to other paralised people on earth?
For what reason did he make his choice to help the people you mentioned and avoided to help millions of other people in similar situation?

    God is not a myth.

God is not “make believe” or “magical”

    God is not Santa Claus.

My name is Jessica. I am a 22 year old college student and I’m here to INFORM YOU:

    GOD IS REAL.

Don’t be angry at him though because you can’t understand things from his level.

Be careful with the rules you live by. Be mindful of where you get your advice from. No human being has ever been 100% accurate in EVERYTHING they say. GOD has never lied to you. You just didn’t take the time to listen AND understand what he had to say.

*(REAL PROOF, SEE: where God talks about the expansion of the universe in Genesis. He told us that’s how it work before we recently “discovered” it on our own)

I’m not here to convert anyone, but merely to spread the TRUTH. Everyone will be accountable for every aspect of their lives.

God is not Santa, and he’s not hear to grant your every little (superficial) wish.

It is YOU who will answer to GOD. You have no choice in the matter. The choices you have are to either be prepared or not be prepared.

Matters not to me whether you believe this or believe in God himself, but I’d rather not watch you market your immature beliefs and b/s “proof” while innocent people are being misled.

Have you TRULY STUDIED the truth? No, not the truth that others tried to feed you. The real, hard to believe TRUTH.

This site is a slap in the face to both God, yourself, and others. You are morally depriving yourself and inquiring minds from seeking out what is true, honest and RIGHT!

Yes, my point is that you are blind and people should be weary taking advice from you.

How can you make such definitive comments about something you truly do not know about?

If you consider the truth to be offensive then that’s your problem. My comment was anything but pompous. Angry, yes. Stern, perhaps… but, maybe you should think twice before posting your lies up for the world to see.

Well let me be the first to apologize for the misunderstanding, however, I still meant what I said.

It would be nice for intelligent people to start joining together. Bickering over things that don’t matter won’t get us anywhere. Making jabs at each other’s character is a waste of time.

My point here is to get the truth out. If those of you reading it choose to reject it, then so be it. Just don’t say God never tried reaching out to you, or that you have never seen God. He makes himself evident everyday, you just have to know HOW to interpret the way he communicates with us.

Start taking note of the ongoing themes in your life and in the lives of those around you, see what God’s word truly means. Power exists in his word, because his word is the truth and no one can deny that.

God is not hiding from us. He is in everything we do, observing our lives and the decisions we all make. Many of us are just too oblivious to notice.

God is real and so is the devil. God gives all a free will to seek Him and serve Him. By rejecting Christ you have accepted the devil as your master and you will live with him for eternity when Christ returns.
Not until one comes to God humbly and sincerely want to know God, that He then reveals Himself to them. All those who are trying so hard to go into the mind of God and are trying so hard to prove to the dumb souls(Christians)that you are all so rationally intelligent by trying to prove that God doesn’t exist. First of all if we could all figure out everything on how his mind works, then what kind of GOD would He be? Just another man who we could manipulate.Whenever you decide to deny your proud intelligent flesh and sincerely say “Lord if you are real come in my heart and save me” then He will show you the light and reveal things to you so that you regret every day that you spent denying Him. I don’t care about religion, I have a personal relationship with God and He despises a proud heart. My heart cries out daily for all atheist knowing that they are gonna die and one day be raised from the dead to the realization that there really is a God and it would then be too late. It would be on judgment day.

Yeah, tried that for a good part of my life until I woke up to reality that he never answered back which meant that my imagination wasn’t tricking myself enough.

  14. on 06 Nov 2010 at 9:17 pm 14.Jessica said …

    @ Hell yeah

“You do realize that Jesus and God are a religion, correct?”

    - Incorrect. Jesus and God created the religion that is Christianity. You’re confusing the created with the creator.

For example, A man can create a car and explain to someone how to use it, but that does not make the MAN a CAR.

God created life and is showing us how to use it. “Religion” is merely a title created by man to discredit the idea.

So, when you say “Jesus and God are a religion” you are basically saying that the creator is the created. That theory collapses on itself, making your point invalid.

But I am not saying the MAN is a RELIGION…..man created religion just like they created the car. Man created Christianity which is made of Jesus and God.

  17. on 07 Nov 2010 at 12:44 am 17.michelle said …

    @Hell yeah

Sorry to inform you but when Christ returns it is not to save but to judge everyone.Your opportunity to accept Him is now while he still allows you breath.

Secondly,God is a Supreme being, sacred and holy. In His sight we are like filthy sinful rags. I used to be so adamantly opposed to the idea and thought it was so unfair for me to be born and declared a sinner until I understood that the same way we inherit bad genes and sickness and wealth and other things from our parents, it is the same way we inherited Adam and Eve’s sins and sinful nature. So God sent Jesus to die for us (He made a way out)and His blood was shed for our sins so we could be accepted as children of God washed and cleansed by asking him to forgive us of our sins and save us. If you cant go to Him in humbleness and sincerity, then all your attempts will be in vain. You will be just as good as lost forever and damned forever. He made salvation so simple, just to accept Him as our Lord, heavenly father, savior and friend. But no, we want to show how much we are educated and intelligent and rational and that we are our own master. All it takes is one severe hit from a car and we are so done.

Don’t approach God in pompousness and arrogance and He is not impressed by our intelligence either as He created us and it. When you approach Him in all humbleness and sincerity asking Him to forgive you of your sins and allow Him into your heart, he will then open your consciousness and your spirit to the knowledge of Him and he will begin to show you things. You can then ask him to reveal to you some of the things that you don’t understand and with humility.
Something to think about- do you really think 90% of the people could be wrong? and the numbers are growing daily. The devil will try his best to deceive and keep in the dark whoever gives him a chance to. God will rescue you only if you really want to.

“do you really think 90% of the people could be wrong? and the numbers are growing daily.”

Where do you get the idea that 90% are true believers? And actually the numbers are going down over the years. My uncle is a priest and he said that the priesthood isn’t looking good for the future. Many priests have to go to multiple churches because there aren’t enough to go around and they are hurting for new recruits….and this has been going on for a long time now. With the information age growing rapidly, so are the skeptics.

Doing a quick search on a study, I found one from 4 years ago: World population stands at 6.3 billion. Christians number just under 2 billion, so that 32.5 percent are Christians and 77.5 are non-Christians. Muslims are still about 1.3 billion or 21 percent. Real Christians are about 600 million or almost 10 percent.

100% people thought the earth was flat some time ago.
100% people thought earth was center of our solar system untill recently.
100 % people considered galaxies (“nebulas”) misty objects inside our galaxy only some 80 years ago (untill Huble explained what “nebulas” really were).
100 % people thought small pox was punishment of god(s), having no idea about microorganisms.
    Were all of them right?

Then, 90 % of all people on earth are not Christians!
Some 33% are christians, some 21% Muslims, 14% Hinduists, 6% Budhists, 6% chinese tradidtionals, etc.
Besides, all “main” religions have “subdivisions” to their parts that are not very friendly to other parts, and frequently not only deny each other, but fight oponent “religions”, even inside the group they belong.
If you say all of them are right, you might accept islam as well, but you DO NOT! WHY?
Something wrong with islam, compared to christianity?
if this is the case, then 90% people is NOT right!
    Something wrong with catholicism?
    Is only YOUR “christianity” right?

    Who is/was right?
16% of “nonreligious (atheists, agnostics, secular humanists, people just answering “none”, or “no religious preferences”.

What he wants from us is crucial to our purpose on this earth. Cut the crap about whether or not he’s real and get with the program.

If you haven’t noticed by now, that this life is a test, then maybe you’re just bound to live in eternal torment.

The last few months have been a crash course for me after almost loosing someone very close to me forever.

I broke the seal in my stubborn mind, and starting thinking that God exsists, and for the first time in my life I have never fealt my eyes wider, and my mind clearer.

Do not be afriad, and I know you think you are not, but trust me you are. Admitting there is a creator and you are created in his image and he has complete control over you and knows what you are doing, where you are going, and the thoughts in your mind IS scary.

With every choice you make there is a wrong and a right. The right choices will lead you back to God in heaven.

If you would like to know the right ways re-read the bible again. But do not just read it research it. God tells you the right and wrong way to do things.

Maybe I used a wrong example of 90% not being wrong but it doesn’t change the fact that God is real. And I know because he has revealed himself to me in so many ways. This never happened until i decided to surrender my will and my desires and seek him with all my heart.I can’t speak for all the other religions and i don’t care for religion because religion can’t save anyone either. I don’t ever hear of them professing of what their God has done but i can testify that Jesus Christ is real from my experiences. As for some of the things that you don’t understand, He says that His ways are not our ways.

What do you have to lose by seeking Him with all your heart, with sincerity and humility? It’s either you will discover Him for yourself or you will not, and you would find yourself back to your previous belief because you have closed your mind so painfully shut by putting up a barrier between you and Him and refuse to allow God to reveal himself to you. He is not going to force himself on anyone. He allows us our free will to chose Him or reject Him. If you can’t come to Him sincerely then your attempt will be in vain. I have listened to people who have come to the knowledge of God just by simply saying “God, if you are real, come into my heart and save me,” and they were never the same again. God revealed himself to them and changed them and they are eternally grateful to Him.

Once you accept Him, He becomes everything to you that you could never imagine. You have to experience Him for yourself.

What do you have to lose? Try and get rid of your stubborn desire to prove to yourself and to your comrades that you are too intelligent to fall for some illogical idea or to talk to some spirit that you can’t see or of an imaginary genie in the sky as some unbelievers describe Him if that’s what you are afraid of.

For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten son that whosoever BELIEVETH in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

One day we will all see Him in person whether we are ready for Him or not.

Give God a chance in your life. Jesus loves you and so do I. May he open your understanding and give you revelation as He did for me.

#30 Michelle- What you surrendered was the possibly quite limited rational intellect you possess. It is akin to going on a low-budget all-inclusive cruise by Carnival. Nothing is really good, but it saves you worry and responsibility, and for a certain type, it is “nice”.

It is also worth noting, while I am making analogies, that Carnival, arguably the crappiest cruise operator, is also the largest. This gets at the heart of the argument often put forward on this blog by theists that there is something magical about being in the majority. Also remember, McDonalds serves more food than any other restaurant in the world. On the other hand, here is only one El Bulli.

This God jazz is a fraud, and the Jesus variant is the most revoltingly scummy hoax con-job ever.

Some of these individuals on here have heard it many times only to trample it underfoot. You are dealing with some hard hearted individuals on here. As ohyes says, it’s already been answered here. I’m not asserting that majority believing something makes it less likely to be true – simply that it doesn’t matter what the majority believe, it is an irrelevant point. People will follow received wisdom, cultural influences etc. and these will change as new discoveries are made.

The majority has often been wrong in hindsight, this is not necessarily a bad thing- it just demonstrates that reasonable people are willing to change thier beliefs in the light of new discoveries

by the way, what makes you think I’m an ‘interesting case’
