With almighty God in his heaven looking on, the Catholic church harbors pedophiles

Set phasers to rage. Documentary by the BBC on Sex Crimes and the Vatican:

This is the behavior of some of the most devout – of those who should be most connected to their God, most knowledgeable of hell, and therefore the most moral amongst Christians.

Hate. This is the first organization/group of people that i have ever truly hated.

I hate that they get an easier pass because they are a religion.

I hate that this shit can be allowed to go on and not one police organisation has even uttered a word with regards to shutting down this criminal organization.

    Makes me fucking pissed.

First of all, you’re looking at a few select people who made mistakes. You shouldn’t judge Christianity based on a few people. You have to also consider those who are living in China or North Korea right now, laying their life down so they can further His Kingdom.

Second, is it honestly a TRUE statement to say that God isn’t real? You say he’s not because prayer doesn’t work or because God doesn’t love and care about us. God works in your life everyday, whether you choose to acknowledge it or not is your choice. He doesn’t force it on you to become a Christian.

Yes, I do agree a lot of Christians do things the Bible doesn’t “agree” with, but there’s also an equal amount of those Christians who do what they’re supposed to do. So please consider the whole group, not just those who mess up.

It is not “a few”- it is dozens. It is not “people” – it is priests. We note that God let them damage hundreds of people and allowed “his” church to lie about it.

    God is imaginary.

    Hi

I know that God is imaginary – always have. It’s so obvious: I’ve never understood how people can accept the myth in the way they do… It’s sad and often leads to this sort of behaviour. I think the believers of a particular fantasy reinforce thier ‘special, chosen status’ by dehumanising others who don’t believe the same things as themselves. This makes it easier to commit inhuman acts against other people because they are less ‘people, ie not the chosen ones’

my question is: if it wasn’t for the lie of religion ( which is all about control, power and wealth for the priesthood) would bad people find other ways to justify waht they do?

I’m not sure getting rid of organised religion would help – even though I wish it would

(sigh), if only the atheist would police their own in places like Red China. It would seem atheist are fine with power, domination and murder as long as a deity is not involved. I think pretending a deity does not exist help them ease their conscious and makes it easier to perform their evil on others. Truly sad.

Of course the atheist will claim china doesn’t murder in the mane of atheism, of course not. Atheism is the lack of belief so the name is unnecessary. Another method of easing the conscious.

Catholicism and atheism are just two peas in a pod.

Why don’t you? If only you would fly over to RED CHINA and take down the Communist regime rather than trolling atheists in the comments section of a blog. I guess you are fine with power, domination and murder, as long as they aren’t writing messages that annoy you on the Internet.

Or better yet, why don’t you stop priests from molesting boys. I guess you are OK with boy-rape, as long as the priests don’t make arguments you don’t like on a blog.

We can do this silly game all day. Atheists don’t support Mao and didn’t support Stalin. They took over countries that had massively RELIGIOUS populations, because the people were sick of their RELIGIOUS leadership, and welcomed radical change.

Atheists don’t support their heinous acts, but religious people support the heinous acts of their leaders all the time, every day.

Of course the atheist will claim china [sic] doesn’t murder in the mane of atheism, of course not.

Hey, if you’re gonna refute your own stupid arguments with the right answer, I can go have a beer. Let me know in advance next time.

Atheism is the lack of belief so the name is unnecessary.

No, atheism is the lack of belief in God. Atheists believe in things.

Another method of easing the conscious [sic]

My conscience is fine. I am against any government or person that violates people’s human rights, whether they are atheists or otherwise (including the US, and both Bush and Obama).

You on the other hand, believe it’s sometimes OK to stone people and sometimes not. At least I assume so, since you won’t answer when I ask you. Right?

First off, we should stop lumping every religious organization under the banner of Christianity, especially catholic teachings. Many of their teachings are directly contrary to the 66 books of the bible. Catholic teachings are catholic teachings and anything but Christian. These kinds of acts are repulsive and rampant among the clergy. No one should be harbored or protected when they have carried out sinful lusts on a child.

Obviously a good number did of they wouldn’t have had power. We typically put atheist on the hook for these guys since atheist like to hold the Inquisitions on us. There you go,

I am an active member of “Men against Catholic Priest who rape boys” so I am doing my part.

  11. on 20 Oct 2010 at 8:55 am 11.Morgan said …

You’re right, it is dozens of people who are doing acts such as priests raping young boys. However, there are also dozens of people who do their jobs as Christians. For example, there are those who do NOT judge others believe it or not. There are those who risk their life each day for the benefit of others. It’s not that there’s more people who are a disgrace to Christianity, it’s that we don’t look at those who do what they’re supposed to. It’s human nature to be negative, so when we see acts such as priests raping children, we don’t pay any attention to those who are completely against it and their actions show it.

If God isn’t real, explain to me why NOTHING in the Bible has EVER been proven wrong. Or why every bodily problem we can experience is found in the book of Genesis. Or maybe why we experience love. No scientist has an explanation for love. Prayer does work, and I can prove it to you. Just because your prayer doesn’t get answered the way you want it to, doesn’t mean it doesn’t get answered. As a Christian, we believe that God’s will be done on Earth, not ours. Some things happen that we don’t know the answer to, but they happen for a reason whether we choose to acknowledge it or not.

“Yes, I do agree a lot of Christians do things the Bible doesn’t “agree” with,…”

    You are confusing things!
Many christians are NOT doing things the Bible ORDERS them to do!
I am happy they don’t, but are they Chrisitans at all, if they disobey their ONLY basic book, claimed to be no more and no less than “word of god”?
For example, stoning of people who work on Sabbath.
For example killing of “consumed” brides on their father’s treshold.
    For example…you name it!
Hm, how christians disobeying the word of god can pretend to be christians?

In fact, by disobeying words of their god, they obviously become aheists.

Have you ever read the Bible?

“Obviously a good number did of they wouldn’t have had power.”

Only 4% of atheist on earth today. Do you agree?

If we had 4% atheists in Russia 1917. and in China 1950., could 4% atheists be considered “a good number” to win very strong local forces which fighted both revolutions, AND foreign help in arms, food, logistic, troups…? The whole world was AGAINST those both revolutions and HELPED local authorities to fight them.

I would say (and I do expect you to agree, even though I have no direct evidences)that there vere much LESS than 4% atheists in China and Russia before and during revolutions.

    WHO, then, supported those revolution?
WHO helped “atheists” (communist) to take power?
    HOW did they win?

You know the answer: RELIGIOUS PEOPLE MASSIVELY SUPPORTED BOTH REVOLUTIONS.

So,please do not blame atheists for communist crimes!
Blame believers, who were (BECAUSE they wer believers) easy to cheat and easyly accepted empty promisses communist offered in “megatons”.
For example: “paradise on earth NOW, not after death!”
For example “equality in possessing land NOW”.
For example “equlity in education NOW”, etc

Yes, communist cheated, but ignorant believrs “swallowed” it and FIGHTED for their “paradise”!

Last, but not least (one of the most important communist promisses): health treatment for EVERYONE, without limits based on education, property…

    I KNOW it!
I lived in a communist regime!

Of course I never “fell” on their stories, and never supported them, BECAUSE i was atheist!
I was trained to use my brain to THINK, not to just BELIEVE.

Before communist revolution There wer NO atheists in my country. Same as in China and Russia, RELIGIOUS PEOPLE supported communist revolution, and it WON!

#9 dxt- You exclude Catholics from Christianity? Catholics are the folks who invented Christianity. Please do not forget, Jesus was a practicing Jew, albeit, if the myths are accurate, not a particularly righteous Jew given his extraordinary blasphemies.

What is more the religion that was the outgrowth of the liberalization of, I am being charitable, Temple Judaism following Titus’ conquest of Jerusalem in the various outlying regions became, after at least a couple hundred years, a religion resembling Christianity. Nothing in the New Testament was written during the life of the historical Jesus (assuming he existed and is not a composite myth) or the actual historical Agrippa I, who incidentally is not unambiguously named in the NT. The NT was written by Catholics in the 2nd C.
