Given all this evidence, how could ANYONE be a creationist?

Look at all of these maps, drawing from hundreds of thousands of pieces of actual, physical archeological evidence – artificats, burial sites, bones, etc. The maps show without any doubt humans arising hundreds of thousands of years ago and then spreading to cover the globe:

Human Prehistory

Modern humans originated in East Africa about 200,000 to 160,000 years ago. Over the next 50,000 years, they spread to south Africa and the west coast, as well as towards Ethiopia.

A group of humans crossed the Red Sea into Arabia. All non-African humans today are the descendents of these people (90,000 years ago).

Humans rapidly spread along the coast of southern and southeast Asia all the way to China. (85,000 years ago)…

There is not a single word, nor a single bit of evidence, for a flood, an ark, a creation event. There are human beings all over the planet 50,000 years ago.

Knowing this, how could ANYONE be a creationist? Do they ignore all the evidence? Or assume it is all forged? What drives creationists to be so willfully unintelligent?

The thing that keeps the believers believing, I think it would be called FAITH. Overwhelming evidence be damned, they’ll stick by what the bible – the infinitely malleable word of god – has to say.

FAITH existed thousands of years before the Bible.
It also existed after bbiblical times.
So WHY stick to Bible? Why not to Talmud, Kur’an,Egyptian religious writings, Chinese religious books….

    WHY Bible?

So what FACT from the Map actually disproves creationism. Not assumption, not created stories but FACT. Look up FACT before providing an answer.

Did you see the Big Canyon (Colorado)on the map?
It is much older than 6000 years.

Did you see the contures of continents? How erfectly some of them fit to another continent a few 1000 km further?
They needed a few hundred million years to separate.

Chemistry and physical properties of rocks tell us about age of earth.
    These are facts.

Yes one must check what fact means. All of this dateing is done under assumed old earth theory. Also the evidence for a world wide flood is widely documented. I do not mind having debates on the age of the earth or the TRUTH of the BIBLE however I do require honesty and intelect when doing so. I read some of the ten reason you don’[t believe in God. What a bunch of garble. I truly wish you the best. But just remember that to fine absolute truth one mus seek it humbly.

Please also note that solid rock has been documented as forming quickly. In “fact” there are several modern artifacts that have been found completly fossilized. Like a boot or hat. These are obviously not millions of years old. If you truly seek truth try going to creationview.org. They have a lot of resources and “facts” It is not a web site for wimps. They don’t just throw out opinion and label it fact because a lot of people believe it.

So where are the FACTS that disprove creationism? Maybe it is not realized but there are varying views on Creationism. Yes theories are good, evidence is good but the reality is that the evidence does not claim any particular view.

Evidence of evolution disproves it. Where are your facts that prove creationism? Where are the facts that disprove that I am your God?

“the evidence for a world wide flood is widely documented.”

It is? Where? LOL The bible doesn’t count. By the way, there isn’t even enough water to have a world wide flood. I am sure there were big localized floods at certain time periods, but not one big flood that covered the world.

#6 Aalden Your stupidity is breathtaking. On the fossilization, given that to varying degrees, impressions of what is often a soft-tissued creature are preserved, it would have to occur relatively quickly. Just because it was done quickly does not mean it didn’t happen 400MM years ago. Given you, or any of the folks selling the benighted creation theory know much about fossilization, it may come as a surprise that there are many different kinds of fossilization.

The boot example looks like somone’s leg rotted in a boot, and it was filled with mud around the remaining bones, and it solidified. Where is the fossil? What percentage of the bones were replaced by minerals? What are the minerals?

It is doubtful there was any significant replacement. It is Creationist stupidity.

As for the “Flood”. Is it that hard to imagine that when the ice damn that broke at the head of the Mediterranean basin broke and the basin began filling there was some sort of flooding? Is it hard to imagine that the BS stories told around campfires at night, mind you this was pre-written word, got bigger and better with time? Just think of all the BS that has been told about some poor radical Jew who was executed a couple thousand years ago. And this was in an age where there was the written word.

You Creationists seem just childish and silly. What comfort do you get from all this? Your parents were sweaty animals fucking, that’s where you got your start, you were born in blood and various filth like any other animal, you will die and rot like all the other animals (the rotting part may take longer if you practice some revolting embalming rite). Get over it, get on with life, and try to make the world better.

LOL, sure it does unless you can prove it wrong. Along with the account written by people groups around the world.

Alas, Christwire.org WAS too good to be true. Likely, Boz, Horatio, the uber-twit Biff, et al. are contributors and we unbelievers are being had.

    From Nose Buster’s post:

“Neither Mr. Watson nor Mr. Butvidas is a crusading atheist. Mr. Watson calls himself “an observant Catholic,” and Mr. Butvidas is a nondenominational Protestant who is “religious for the most part.” Their target, they say, is not Christians but those who do not question what they hear on the news.”

Blimy! Some great advise for those who get their news from The Times or godisimiginary.com, Dawkins, Harris and the rest. Think for yourself atheist and stop listening to the angry atheists with book deals.

The bible proves itself wrong and impossible.
God is ultimately just while condemning blasphemers to an eternity in hell; god is perfect while creating imperfect beings; ext..
Carbon dating is not theory and it dates the earth at approximately 4.5 billion years old. The bible dates the earth no later than ten thousand years old.
Red shift technology is not theory and we see light that’s over 14 billion years old. The bible dates the cosmos no later than ten thousand years old.
Those who say a day to god could be millions of years to man should also realize that the non translated Hebrew bible used the word Yom exclusively to mean a 24 hour period.
There are countless mistakes and contradictions in the bible which is the direct inspired word of god; a perfect being. The bible cannot be literally true, yet god says it must not be interpreted.

People are creationists because the people they trust the most told them that they would go to hell if they accepted evolution. Apparently, the invisible man in the sky finds “belief” the most important thing of all –It’s a good thing the invisible guy doesn’t require people to believe that the moon is made of cheese or that the earth is the center of the universe (anymore)!

It is very unlikely this guy is a hoax. You can google earth the address. He does not have a way to explain away retrograde motion of the inner planets, but what the hell?

i believe in the tooth fairy. what are the facts that disprove the tooth fairy? ha!, the tooth fairy is real.

bush believed that sadaam’s had weapons of mass destruction. what are the facts? of course we know better. 20 years ago, we couldn’t disprove it, so I guess he had nukes.

Umm…just to say quickly…(I know I’m going to regret this) there actually is Geologic evidence of massive floods, floods that were capable of carving such landmarks as the Grand Canyon. I am NOT saying that the Grand Canyon was formed by a floor only that such there is proof for such large scale floods.
