If we are in fact the product of a evolutionary process that turned an uncreated blob of something into single-cells, then multi-cells, then animals, and finally people, then we can do whatever we want. There is no such thing as “hurting society”, it’s called natural selection.

Whether I decide to lie to soldiers, or even kill them along babies and old people, you have no basis for complaint.

By the way: If God cured cancer, we’d credit it to someone and say God had nothing to do with it. What if God cured the polio and we stole the credit? If God cured an amputee, we’d take biiological evidence for the new limb and explain it away as human self-reproduction (another step in evolution, no doubt).
