It’s possible that he sees “God” as some sort of mental archetype or a way to access his “inner resources”.

He certainly doesn’t seem to regard the “scriptures” as the final word on anything.

This is one of the more ignorant post I have see on here. We have never had an atheist president and its not likely in my lifetime. Therefore this is exactly how rational, technologically sophisticated country should operate. Ol’ drunken uncouth Thomas Paine is as close as we have ever come and that was not very close.

I don’t care if they are Mormon, Baptist or Agnostic(the truly rationale choice) as long as they are qualified to lead. It would be nice to vote for a qualified individual rather than American Idol yes?

Lou, Moose was commenting on how your statement is hollow. You can put any group in that sentence and it sounds just as stereotyped and ignorant as what you said. Here, I’ll show you what I mean.

Are you so jaded against a specific portion of the population that you don’t see a problem with making a statement like this?

Also, on the whole changing the subject bit, do you really expect no one to call you out when you make such a broad and instigative generalization? If you made that exact comment on a baptist blog with mooses’ version of the statement do you think the subject would stay the same?

“completely delusional” is defined as not agreeing with the accepted beliefs here. I think that is also the mark of insanity. The masses are delusional but you are not? Just saying.

I would venture to guess just about every president before him has done the same. Considering our outstanding success as a nation up to now, it appears to be working. With Obama however, his arrogance probably keeps him from listening unless he deems god to be an Ivey league colleague.

Obviously those who believed Obama to be an atheist don’t understand the extreme importance of God in the black community. They also speculated he was a Muslim. Go figure.
