For the record, it was Pope Leo X in 1514 who said, in front of many witnesses,
“How well we know what a profitable superstition this fable of Christ has been for us and our predecessors.”

Of course, he will now be disenfranchised as “not a true Christian”
Isn’t the papacy supposed to be infallible in matters of doctrine? God himself is supposed to prevent the pope from speaking incorrectly when it comes to matters of faith and dogma. So there you have it, the infallible word of gods elected representive on earth, admitting that Jesus is a fable and a superstition.
