I am entralled by this web-site and applaud it’s efforts. The way it presents logical arguments in easy to understand prose is great.
But something changes in the chapter on sacrifice. Now, while I agree with just about everything this web-site is saying, the section on animal sacrifice (not human) seems to abandon its usual modus operandi of using clear logical arguments, and instead, plays solely on the emotions of the reader.
Really. I was reading this right before lunch. When lunch time came, I went and had a steak quesadilla and I pondered what I had just read. It just doesn’t meet the standards of the rest of the site. I wish you would re-word that section.
That such a big deal was made about blood being put on the ear-lobe, and big toe of Aron and his sons is a little confusing. It’s arbitrary. Go to a butcher or slaughter house… it will make this account look like child’s play. Use logic instead of looking like card carrying PETA members. The part about the priests getting their ‘portion’ is a much more convincing arguement.

I agree with people when they say that the violence and cruelty and evertything evil that is in the world is unexplained.But I feel that while God cannot be explained by things external,we arent in a position to deny his/her(I am sorry I do not have an appropriate reference) presence….Ultimately the very existence of world and ourselves is a mystery…

I’ve read about St. Therese Newmann.May be you will find it convincing(I am not a Christian in the sense that I have not been baptized and I do not understand everything taught in the name of Christianity.But I believe in the principles of love and forgivness and I can only bow to Jesus for the way he forgave everyone and loved all)

I admire you because you are honestly trying to know….

This is my last one here too. But you obviously haven’t done your homework. The existence of Jesus of Nazareth is a very well documented fact. The historical record is not in contention. The only contention is over his claims and the claims of his followers.

You don’t even know the most basic elements of that which you oppose.

Why should anyone believe that Jesus even existed as a person? Why wouldn’t many argue that? What the hell makes you think that he ever existed? You just assume shit, I guess, and think that that should be enough.. great logic!
