I’m hoping that the active bigotry is an expression of the hate being slowly purged as the old die off and the young figure out the hypocrisy of the euphemistically named ‘traditional values’.

I was so proud when Obama pulled ahead in the race for the presidency. I felt a rush of warmth infuse my heart, and I thought, “what a long way we’ve come.”
Now, with every passing moment I spend reading various and sundry bits online, it’s getting harder and harder to feel pride in being American. I feel as though I’m submerged in an oily bath of hatred that will never wash off, and knowing it’s from fellow native Americans is the worst knowledge of all. I feel as though I never knew the truth about my fellow countrymen ’til now, and it’s awful. No one has even enough manners to keep their hateful thoughts to themselves. I’m ashamed of my countrymen.

I understand somehow why people refuse to accept Jesus, it is because they do not see much of a difference between Christians and themselves and sometimes find our behavior unacceptable.

As Mahatma Gandhi once said when asked why he did not want to become a Christian, “I too will become a Christian, when I meet a Christian like Jesus.”

Goes to show how very few of us really represent Jesus. I pray for myself and other believers like myself to see this as a wake-up call.

I disagree with everything said on this website about Christianity but not on the issue of racism. Go ahead, Johnson ask the question. What’s wrong with my Christian brothers and sisters accepting a black president?

I wish some of them could read what atheists think about them here so that they can really be ashamed of themselves.

These are the issues people look at whether we are really displaying the love of Christ or not. You cannot claim to love God whom you have not seen and then have a problem with someone being your president just because he is different. It would be understandable if it were unbelievers who had an issue with Obama’s victory, but Christians?

Guys don’t you realize that these issues are driving people further and further away from Christ? Shouldn’t we be an example? Shame on you!!

I say to all the racist Christians they should double check their right standing with God because there are issues of racism that need to be fixed.Clean up your act, please, you are embarrassing the rest of us and what we stand for.

It’s just great to know that millions of Americans are going to (already do) think that our president is a Muslim terrorist (and perhaps Anti-Christ) set out to destroy the country that these conservatives love so much.

I guess anything to hold us back and keep us fighting so we can never get SHIT done.
