Most people on this blog can't say the same, Mr. DPK, theist, atheist or agnostic. I'm glad you are so exceedingly confident in your morality. Don't use it to elevate yourself above people or anything. Oh wait...I forgot that's a province resigned only to theists, right?

Let's get back on subject.

My analysis:

The pastor's story is an explanation for what he is misinterpreting in Genesis as two creation events. (not that I share a fundamentalist view of Genesis, I'm educated enough to know that most of the stories in the old testament are syncretic.)

Thomas' critique is not only poorly crafted but it makes absolutely no sense.

Why is this a rationalization?

You have yet to tell us in any coherent way.

Thomas' conclusion is not supported by anything written in the story and he seems to only be interested in repeatedly asserting his position that God is a myth. With nothing related to the story supporting this claim, other than this man stated that he sees what he believes to be a contradiction.
yet, Thomas seems to draw the conclusion that this somehow proves his presupposition...What?

What does this man's reconciling with himself or if you want to call it "rationalizing" have to do with your conclusion? It sounds too me like ol' Tom just wants to point a finger and say...

"SEE this guys was conflicted and contradicted himself!! That proves the bible's a MYTH, Your God's a MYTH and look how MYTHY this guy is! MYTH, MYTH, MYTH and you're all STUPID for Believing MYTHS! Take that, stupid Theos! Ha I'm gonna go play Elder Scrolls now...oh,uh...I mean get laid!

This way he gathers attention and an audience and gets to sound superior to all his fellow internet athiets Sorry, but I think this whole articles a big fail.

What response? You said one thing, then when called on it you said something else.
You're obviously a liar and a basically dishonest person who cannot admit when he is wrong.
I'm done with you. You are not a person of integrity.

If your god is real, at least I will face him knowing that I was at least forthright with people.
Can you say the same?

DPK, that statement that you posted from my comment is useless in this argument because it has nothing to do with whether a prayer will be answered or not.
I also stated the following sentence within the comment that you quoted thus proving that you are lying about me stating that prayer are more likely to be answered with the assistance of a saint.
“praying to a saint is not required, God can answer your prayers either way.”:,

DPK, the sentence within the quotation marks below that you quoted does not even remotely suggest that your pitiful accusation concerning my comment is in any way true, due to the fact that it DOES NOT contain the statement of a saint's assistance making a prayer more likely to compel Jesus to answer a prayer. This lie that you fabricated as a way of deceiving me is pathetic.

“Mr. DPK, you have failed again. Saints are close to God, so we pray to the saints so that they will ask God to grant the prayer.”

Why do you find it necessary to lie about what you said, William?
This seems to be a habit. You make a claim to explain something, and then later change your mind and claim you never said that. You must be a theologian.

Yes, why would a saint be so presumptious as to ask god to change his mind about something, that in god's transcendent reality, has already been decided?

Reality according to Messenger:
We pray to saints because they are close to god, so they are more likely to have god answer our prayers if they ask, see...
Oh wait, we don't ask them to do that, well, we do, but not really, it's just, well see... you don't understand. Jesus paid for... uh... Hell is eternal punishment, except you get out after a while, unless you're really bad, and even then, no one stays there forever, that's not what god means by eternity.... I gotta go... BTW, you can't explain how the universe was created..
