I prefer not to label myself to one particular party, but for each election at any level take a look at the candidates and try and decide who's going to do the best job for the most amount of people. Under this criteria, I think this election is a no-brainer. McCain and Palin are a couple of dimwitted extremists with no interest in compromise on any issue. Obama from the start has preached compromise on all issues from gun control to abortion; he has no interest in pursuing the extreme liberal position on these issues. The same cannot be said for McCain/Palin.

I'm not voting for either of the major parties because I dislike where both are taking us. Call it a wasted vote if you like (because in a sense it is), but I'm not going to vote for the lesser of two evils when I can vote for a greater good and hope others will do the same.

I'm a registered Republican.

For many of the past 8 years, I've held hope that the sane members of my party would stand up and do something about the radicals. That they would return to the practical sanity that they once had. Instead, things have gotten worse and the whole political process is in tainted -- including the Democrats.

I was hoping that when McCain won my party's endorsement that he would signal that he would not coddle to those irrational and self destructive members of the party. Instead of that signal, he chose a separatist for his running mate. Someone who would have a high likelihood of becoming president herself. The signal was clear; Senator McCain had like many others been won over by those who would rather destroy the United States over ideology than do the prudent things -- the necessary things -- that we need to have done now.

With that, I had to accept reality. 4 more years of this nonsense would be too much. I'd have to vote my conscience ... like Colin Powell ... and not be mislead yet again by a hope that was never really offered.

I'll be voting Obama and not with the Republicans for these reasons as well as many others.

I'm seriously concerned and angry at my party. They have no intent to speak for me or my concerns.
