What you say is true. But the only thing that I pity the christians is that they pray to the wrong God & they will be condemned to hell by doing so.

As for as I can figure this. Is that God is eternal, and so we start with a being that needs no cause. In fact, it would be nonsense who ask, who caused the uncaused. It is only created things or beings that need a creator. So the xtian God is uncaused, as we understand God to be. As for not healing amputees, I have the understanding that God is Sovereign and that He owes no man anything. He has mercy on whom He has mercy. He also has no mercy, on whom he chooses not to have mercy. Man thinks that if there is a God, this God would have to treat everyone fairly. Where does the athiest get this? Certainlly not from the bible. The bible shows a God who is very “unfair” and a God who definitely “offends” our senses of “fair”. I think that the God of the bible is not to be misconstrued as someone who runs around pleasing everyone. He does not do that in the bible. Jesus passed by plenty of sick, dying, and I am sure crippled in His life time and never stopped to help everyone. I believe we now have a better, more honest understanding of the God of the bible, without all the fluff. He does not heal amputee’s and the sad part is….they don’t deserve it. Man deserves Hell, man deserves wrath….what makes man think that He deserves good things from God? It is mans arrogance about Himself that demands God behave in a manner that is pleasing or it is man that pleases himself to dismiss God, because God is a badass who is not a tyrant, but certainly one who cannot be contained, made to sit, rub his belly and pat his head. God doesn’t heal amputees obviously because He does not want to. This offends me a bit…but what does God ow them? Is He in debt to them? I think not. I am certainly not here to argue. I am trying to explain God as I understand Him “Truthfully”, in both the bible and in this life.

Actually, there are a lot of honest christians. They just don’t come on atheist websites and try to convince people they are going to hell for blasphmy.
It’s the anthropic principal at work. Christians here are, by and large, assholes because only the asshole christians come here to try and “save” us heathens.

I asked you point blank to make your case for why any of us should buy what you’re selling. Your response to to be offended and run away. That doesn’t say much for the strength of your position.

I have a friend who is a Baptist minister. We no longer discuss issue relative to my atheism. He has already admitted to me that he has no answers to my questions about the validity of his “faith”. He believes because he wants to. It makes him feel good to believe when he dies he will get to see his loved ones again, and live in a paradise with no sadness forever and ever. It’s very much like being on drugs. Deep inside you know the euphoria isn’t real, and it’s all bullshit… but you take them anyway.
T.A. makes a point of trying to be the peacemaker and find some middle ground. But, the reality is, there is no middle ground. When it comes to the idea of the existence of supernatural gods, one of us is right and one of us is wrong. The truth is not relative for each person. Gods exist, or they don’t. Now, given the fact that there is no good evidence to support the idea that they do, in fact exist, and given the fact that all the thousands and thousands of gods that people have claimed to exist throughout history have all been completely imaginary, I’d say it’s a safe bet to assume the current crop of gods are also imaginary.
T.A, was given the opportunity to show us, dispassionately, that we are wrong. Instead, he decided to take his toys and go home, because we aren’t “playing nice” by actually challenging his claims.

DPK, you know as well as I do that people like Thaddeus Aster are disingenuous and intellectually, if not absolutely, dishonest. When they can’t defend their delusion they simply shut-up and leave or lie about and insult those who don’t share their delusion.
