To clarify further, I meant the perspective held by a government not required to abide by religious law/rule. Call it what you like.

USA is not a secular government, but the society itself makes this statement true. Now, some say this because the US has such a mass variety or different types of religion and contradicts one of the amendments. Others believe that the US foundation was formed under a creator or “under God” and should be kept that way. Regardless, whatever we said or believe will not change the global religious wars developing or change the minds of this government.

We can just continue arguing and stating our points.

Who said anything about atheists being equivalent to convicts? Geez! You must be tired from working so hard to make a connection that isn’t there.

My comment was stated from a secular government perspective so give it a rest. If you want to argue against this perspective then go ahead and give it your best shot.

wow, steveK, you really show such christlike compassion.
by that same “laws of the land” trumpcard, the torture and crucifixion of your very own savior was perfectly legit, then. no discrimination there… as too was slavery and witchburning, etc.

and yes, you are right: atheists are totally equivalent to convicts. we *deserve* exclusion and discrimination for our honesty.
