The rest of your comment needs no further explanation. It’s self-explanatory about what’s wrong with Christianity and with those who think like you.

Furthermore, my life is not confused, nor does it require religion to give it purpose. Apparently yours does. If you and the other delusional faithful need it, then kindly keep it to yourselves.

You people are the most simple minded and straight forward beings that I have ever come across. You give me such privelege to sense that you are just a set of people who are confused about life. I don’t blame you, everyone needs the truth and everyone needs a path to travel, but can’t you realize that your path is full of simplicity and is almost purposeless. Instaed of attacking what has kept many christian oriented societies so strong and the beleivers so faithful, why dont you try some truth that will help people do good. The world is already suffering, don’t full it with more mental tradgedy.

I think this hits pretty much every one of my “this guy doesn’t know what he’s talking about” buttons. Actually, it seems that in the last half-decade or so, the word “patriot” thrown around about anyone except veterans and servicemen (and women!) is pretty much a red flag in the “probably wrong about [whatever]” box.

The ones who know that Barton is full of crap consider him a means to an end. They figure that getting people on your side through lies will be worth it in the end.

The ones that do not know that Barton is full of crap are not good at considering evidence or do not care about considering evidence (for whatever reason). They accept him through tribalistic reasons (he’s on “their side”) and just want Christian republicans to win.

My goodness this guy is really crazy. If his perspective on the US history, on what should be considered American and/or constitutional, and on how the relationship between church and state should be interpreted ever becomes fully mainstream in the US, the US will have ceased to be a Western-world-style democracy.
Of course, Americans are free to choose any type of political system they wish, but I think it is important to realize what the consequences would be if this guy had a highly significant impact: the US would leave the consensus among Western-world countries and would, with respect to its political and societal system, ultimately not be Western-world country anymore. Good luck!

Christians can’t feel at peace just praising God and being content in the knowledge that they’re going to heaven and all their enemies are going to hell. They need to feel like they’re doing something “godly”. And what’s more godly then fighting sin? They love the thought of themselves being God’s Chosen Army, marching righteously into battle to defeat Satan and Sin in His Holy Name. Because, the All Powerful, Almighty God needs their help, you see.
