Those stories are no more believable than

i) Riding a Winged horse to seven layers of heaven where many virgins await
ii) Finding mysterious gold plates in a mountainside that foretold of a ancient jewish city in North America….? Hahahahahaha……wow….mormons are halarious.
iii) Believing in a purple squid with antlers that glows green on wednesdays

But back to adult conversation. The reason we have Michael Newdows filing court cases to get “under God” in the Pledge of Allegiance and “In God We Trust” on U.S. currency removed is really simple in nature.

1. He gains fame. Guys like him want to feel relevant.
2. He is bored. He has nothing else in his life. Fill it with meaningless court cases. With all the problems we face, this is what he finds important.
3. He feels superior. His vision of the Constitution is superior to others since he sees himself as smarter and more informed than our previous generations. Arrogance would sum this up.

Of course he lost in the San Francisco-based 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. Its pretty much over if he can’t win there.

Maybe his next case will to get the Washington Monument torn down.

I have to remind myself next time that I’m trying to reason with people who believe in invisible sky-daddies, a 6000 year old earth, talking snakes, and a floating ark full of millions of animals built by a 600 year old man just because an ancient book tells them so. I would feel privileged to see all like minded rationalists who frequent this forum to stop entertaining the aggression sighting trolls we have come so familiar with. Risking lashings from those whom I relate with: adults should not lower themselves to the level of lunatics, fighting passionately for those with closed minds while being ridiculed by those same people. I, being guilty of the before mentioned mistakes, have probably influenced many of the loons to stay and detour us from meaningful internal communication; but I know that an ignored idiot will find its entertainment elsewhere.
