Why does God need hell? Why does God send millions of people into the Lake of Fire to be tormented by fire and giant worms for all eternity? My best guess is that the God of the Holy Bible is so pure and holy and We are blind and naked and filthy dirty in the sight of this holy God. We can not perceive our blindness, nakedness and filthiness. So we say that we are just fine without this Holy God. One day, our true characters will be fully revealed in the sight of God and all creation. We will be judged and cast into the lake of fire. How hideous. How sad. Who can escape the wrath of God by saying “I don’t believe?”

I judge everything I see, condemn things that repulse me, produce waste, and many other things common to our species; without the power of god propping me atop a pedestal away from my primate brethren I must do these things. If you can call any being who’s actions resemble the atrocities in the old testament anything but evil, then the label “disconnected ” shall you be branded. We will agree that this is “our” country; let your lack of “this is a Christian nation” bigotry be condoned / applauded. I tire now of typing and will keep short my tutoring lessons on sarcasm, of which a good example can be found in the phrase, “Another swing at the condemned by the saved righteous” ; these words reflect your beliefs being known and mocked by another whom you have accosted unprovoked. There is no appreciation or respect to be found hear in your beliefs. Perhaps I could have those affections towards you haven’t for your kinds relentless encroachment on my freedoms. It is contradictory to be secure and have hope, please feel free to take that with you for free; my hope comes from what makes me, which is derived from my time on this planet.

Brenda – you say you would rather “believe” and then die and find there is a God than the other way around? Is that true belief then? Are you a believer because you KNOW there is God and you LOVE him with all your mind, heart and soul? Or are you believing IN CASE…? Is that what your God expects of you?

You have failed to answer the Hindu question. Mohamad (peace be upon him)? Bhuda? Hail Selasie? I have no idea how to spell these names, but I am sure you know who I am talking about. So in the end there will be a thousand lines, right? One behind each of the prophets? And God the Father is waiting for that fateful day to say WHICH line comes to him? Why? What kind of love is that? Hindus are as dedicated to their faith as the Jews are – but in the end there is only ONE way to the Father (Christians for Jesus etc)… and God will not bother to clarify which one – Why? To make sure there are people going to hell? Why else is he allowing so many different religions, all trying their best to get to HIM, although only ONE will make it? What kind of a love is this? Is God sending people to hell on purpose. The arrogance in believing to be THE CHOSEN, and anyone else who does not believe what you believe is DAMNED… and I say damned because that’s what your Bible says, not because I believe I am damned.

Great point. When you point out to atheist what God’s Word clearly states, they like to attack the messenger. My personal philosophy is they know deep insider there is a God. They prefer not to take Him on is debate. That would be the ultimate foolishness.

Seems to me that Christians (or any belief in a higher being) are not the ones doing the judging. We are not the ones condeming an evil God. Our Country, the USA, was founded on religious freedom. You have every right to not believe, but why do you call yourself “the condemned” and believers “the saved righteous?” Could there be a thread of belief somewhere in your thinking? We should all just live in peace and allow to each his or her own way of thinking. Christianity teaches us to love our neighbor. I’m secure in my belief. It gives me hope. Where does the atheist hope come from? And, here is the big question, why do you consider the atheist as the “damned?”

Your statement “However, to recognize the evidence prayer presents, one must put aside fear and ignorance” is intended to induce offence; these bigotry laden opinions you and your peers entertain expose your arrogance. If it has been seen who goes to heaven / hell and if there can be no rebuttal to gods visions of times to come then aren’t you just antagonizing the dammed? I am quite comfortable in my skin knowing through self contemplation what my intents are when speaking to others. You should practice this same self scrutinisation lest when you expire, you neighbor we atheists in the land of the wicked.

„I challenge you to think about this: I would rather live my life believing in God and prayer and when I die, find out that I was wrong than to live my life not believing and not praying and when I die, find out I was wrong. Anyone who tries to disprove God and the power of prayer must be afraid of God and the power of prayer.“

We were chalenged many times with that. It is called „Pascal’s weger“ and is some 350 years old.

My „phylosophy“ is: I am NOT going to believe bullshits written in the Bible or in any other religious book (Kuran…), to „please“ some insane „being“ that THREATENS me with going to hell if I do not recognize him. I will live my life decently, resposibly and joyfully without any FEAR, and let god’s job to be done by gods, IF they exist.
It is NOT my concern what some lunatic god is ready to do to me ONLY because HE did not give me relevant information about his existance .
HOW, the hell, can I make RATIONAL chioce among so many gods? By reading and “following” – WHAT? Bible? Kuran? Stone writings about Quetzalcoatl? Polynesian legends? Chinese religion books?

Of course I do NOT believe any god(s) exist, but if they do, and if they are SO evil to punish me by „eternal torturing“ just because I did not believe they exist (ad it was THEIR fault!), so be it.

I do not like to be threatened, I do not like to live in fear, and I don’t.
