Why are you trying to misdirect the conversation to be about tone, when the real issue is the poisoning of young minds with the utter drivel that is Christianity?

How about “you” stop indoctrinating young children into being afraid of the non-existent sky daddy and let them appreciate the world for how it really is?

Why don’t we all agree that the primitive superstitions of the goat-herders that became the Bible are complete nonsense and without foundation, and unless someone finally comes to with some proof of this god of yours that the world has moved on, and you religious types need to stop killing and hating over which of the non-existent gods is real?

In other words, stop playing the persecuted martyr and give up this nonsense with your imaginary friends.

I am certainly no fundamentalist, but have a basically Christian worldview. What I don’t fully understand is: I have no bitterness towards atheists, or any other religious group, or thought system. Why do atheists seem so bitter towards especially the Christian community? I will ceratinly acknowledge there are a lot of knuckleheads and irritating peeple that claim to be ‘Christian’. First of all, anyone who has breath, and vocal cords, can claim to be anything. This doesn’t mean they understand the system – they can only live according to their understanding, or lack of, anything.

The proposed site will have its fill of genuine patrons; secular humanists / atheists would flock to a site offering a broader range of topics than W.W.G.H.A., which offers no forum where we can contribute and discourages topics other than religious ones (which can get boring quickly). It is entirely acceptable, your thesis that theists will have no use for such a site; you fail to account for the trolls whom litter sites like these, heave stones from their pulpits, and are compelled to duel with those secure in their differing beliefs.

Sounds like Secular Humanism.

Problem is, Christians and other people of faith are going to declare that this is exactly what they have with their church family. Why would they need this website or this philosophy when this is everything that Jesus and their church already gives them?

This seems a noble venture; you leave available an opportunity for the consensus of differing views (Atheist and theist), distinct from the arena known as “why won’t god heal amputees”. I would visit a site akin to this brainchild more often than the showground previously addressed. You will require luck and elbow grease to keep the trolls at bay; a requisite I’m sure, for the sovereign, nonaligned spirit of this brand of righteous medium. Good luck.
