I am a christian but have come to accept the reality that the Bible was written by human beings that witnessed events. I don’t think that God wrote it down on the little sheets of paper from Egypt (can anyone remember the name of it cuz I can’t!) and dropped it down unto the Earth. So is it possible that God is a fabrication of the human mind because we felt that we needed something to believe in and polytheistic method just wasn’t working for us?

Lastly humans whatever they are/choose to be (in terms of sexual preference) it’s just what happens. You can beat them into submission, assail them with as many vitriolic sayings you want, and force them to conform yet they will still crave, and or want whatever their sexual preference is. So go ahead and attack them as much as you want. In the end their minds may be changed but not what they truly desire.

I just question the mix of religious beliefs with science. Especially when folks like Horus try to leave the comforting enclave of faith and use logic to try and “prove” their beliefs. I have the comfort of being wrong about my understanding of the world and then being able to seamlessly transition to a new and better understanding as our technology advances. I know that todays scientific understanding of our world and universe will be enhanced in the future (and I will need to revise and improve my understanding). Think of how much has been learned since Galileo pointed his telescope to the night skies and wondered about the workings of our solar system.
If you’re trying to mix faith with science, then you are yoked with trying to squeeze god into the shrinking gaps of knowledge. Good luck with that!!!

Have I been intolerant? I have many “true” Christian friends. None of them think I am intolerant.

But anyway, I digress: It’s almost unanimous that Muslims hate the gay community. However, there are Christian groups that have decided to, in varying degrees, become more accepting of the homosexual community. These Christians are following a course that society has dictated to them. So, I suggest that ALL religious faiths should revise their positions (take a leadership role for a change). Let’s change the mindset of everyone so that another senseless killing based on sexual orientation does not occur. Boz, you guys are the moral leaders…..so you say, right? Take a position.

How many aheist on the earth today? 4%?
How many atheists on earth 100 years ago? 1%?
How many atheists during entire history of human race? Less than 0.5% (probably MUCH less. If someone only doubted or posed questions, he/she would be killed in name of one of „right“ religions that ruled the world for milleniums)?

WHAT influence could atheists have on anything, ever?
None!

So, WHO did ALL evil things to human race during the histtory? Atheists?
Hardly!

Even in Russia, China, Germany: there were NO atheists when „atheist regimes“ took power!
Christians WOTED for Hitler! Christians suported Russian revolution and died for communist promisses. Believers supported China revolution and died for Mao’s promisses!
Even if those regimes were (somehow?) “atheist”, BELIEVERS are responsible they too kpower! Believers brught them to power one way (elections) or another (revolutions).
I do not expect believers to apologize for crimes of those regimes, althou THEY (believers) are, obviously, (indirectly) responsible for them.

I expect believers to understand and to accept FACTS, to avoid such terrible mistakes once more in history: to vote, or to support, or to fight for another criminal regime.
