The first link is to University of Edinburgh. This is one of the best universities in the world. Again, they are not teaching parapsychology as one would teach mechanical engineering. The website shows their curriculum covers the following: 1. What phenomena are parapsychology. 2. How to test whether it is true or not.

THERE IS NOTHING ALONG THE LINES OF WE ARE TEACHING ESP, TELEKINESIS, OR ANYTHING OF THE KIND.

Did you actually read anything from the site?

The second link is to a Christian college so paranormal activity would be part and parcel of a Christian curriculum. Prayer for example, would likely be a type of ESP, or some sort of mind reading trick.

Boz,
No p"paranormal" studies in Europe, on universities or schools.

How is it that you support anything paranormal out of your religion?
I thought your church forbids any other form of superstition except superstition THEY teach!?

7 Boz
So your god created a huge universe with billions of galaxies, billions of stars each? He imposed extremely complex laws to universe, which universe strictly followed, no exception.

WHEN was it?
6,000 years ago, or 13.5 billion years ago?

Then the mighty one, who created billions of billions of billions of stars, and invented complex laws of physic, math, chemistry...came to earth, and made man from mud. He also imposed multiplyng of human race by inbreeding (against laws he imposed).
He was a selfish god who punished humans by killing them if the smell of burnt meat they offered him was wrong. He gave detailed instructions about how to beat slaves and how to stone "consumed" brides and people working on Sabbath. Etc.

Same god?

You inevitably DO negate biblical god by introducing a god who created universe and imposed natural laws running it.
These two gods are incompatibe, except in case the "universe" god got senile after he created universe and started to behave like an idiot.

So, WHICH one is yours, Boz?

Did you see the name of the site?

Nothing paranormal in the project described!
Only "paranormal" in this article is the HEADLINE a parapsyhology site gave to it!

People running this site would LIKE to have support in science, as you would like science to prove god existance, so they use pretty rotten methods to support their idiocy.
Like putting an attractive, but incorrect headline to an article about normal scientific project.

Noted Observer however my only intent was to prove “Not in Europe, not in my country” was not correct. Anyone familiar with any sciences knows that much of it is taught as theories and not fact.

"Not in Europe, not in my country" was in reference to parapsychology and other weirdness being taught as fact in college courses. A good way to prove that Severin was not correct would be to link to some evidence showing that parapsychology is being taught as fact in European countries. Not an article about an extracurricular research program investigating paranormal claims.

If a being may exist as you postulate, then it is quite possible it is the God of Abraham. Your opinion on the Bible doesn’t make His existence any less plausible.

That's true. It would be hard to make the crazy God in the Bible any less plausible than it already is. It's near 0 on the plausibility scale.

#7 Boz If you read your link at Lund University, this is science. This is how belief either becomes fact, or is debunked. It seems there is a rigourous program underway there to define what it meant by all "parapsychology". Notably, this includes hypnotism, which is an accepted therapy in the US and Europe at the very least. They, it seems, are setting baselines to test whether the more exotic stuff exists, and are using more up to date equipment. Hopefully, these questions can be unambiguously

It does seem a bit of a rehash of what was done at Harvard in the 50s and 60s, but what the hell?

The key point is that parapsychology is not being taught as fact. Furthermore, parapsychology is not in any way a part of the curriculum. This is a research project.

Aren't you interested in getting at the truth? Using this to bolster your claim is childish, disingenuous or both.

#7 Boz- Your point in #2 is likely correct in that by your own definition of the problem GOD is finite, and hence not the "God of Abraham". Your definition is for a being that is vastly more developed than the life on our planet. Yes, that seems possible.

It seems the "God of Abraham" does not make sense and should be dropped if for no other reason than It is odious. I think an exchange for the more pleasant Yule wandering Odin/Saint Nicholas is warranted.
