One wonders if something is true. That person then tests to see if it is true. The test proves it is true. Then that person believes what he wondered is true, based on the proof. If the test proves it isn’t true, then that person believes it isn’t true. Makes sense to me. If we scientificaly prove that God is real, then we can all believe he is real. So yes, “Scientists do not believe anything without proof” does make sense.

Severin, your qoute is pathetic, you are basically saying that science is a belief system when you try to say that it is not.

Look closely, “Scientists do not believe anything without proof.”
So what you are saying is that scientists believe in anything they can prove.

So if you can prove it, you believe it.

Get a better qoutation because you a punching yourself with your qoutes, and maybe even injuring yourself so you have to go and get a check up at the nearest sensibility clinic. Science is not a belief system. Scientists do not believe anything without proofs.

Religions are systems in which fools are trying to find truth in stupid, contradictory, cruel, inconsistent, unproved fairy tails.

If you have a mobile phone, why don’t you throw it away? If you visit doctors when sick, why don’t you stop? Why do you use cars or plains? Those are all parts of the system “fanatic” scientists enabled you to enjoy.
Or, why don’t you try to just shout us your comments loudly, instead using Internet? Maybe your god would help you to reach us that way.

Only organized religions and religious people are stupid enough to follow unproved fairy tails.

I have read some of God’s Debris, and at times it seems to veer off into silliness. For example, in one chapter the old man asks the main character, “Where is your free will?” In a sense, this is like asking, “Have you stopped beating your wife?”
A person’s free will is nowhere. Free will is only a label. For example, I love my little brother, but my love for him exists nowhere. I only describe my feelings for him with the label, “love”. Free will is much similar.

Almost 10 years old but still good although not fresh. I especially enjoy level 5: The Avatar level, the mind is a delusion-generating machine, and that science is another belief system.

Science is a belief system in which the fanatics find all truth and all meaning in life wrapped up in the interpretations of men. Its sad but Scott’s challenge brings home the point. After reading Debris, I couldn’t help but wonder what scrambled the old man’s brain?
