If everyone wants to get along and obey rules why do we deal with politicians, enemies and avarice every day?

You say that there is no reason for atheists not to do horrible things because they don’t have a holy book to tell them it’s wrong.

May I then assume that the only reason you don’t have sex with your own mother is because a holy book tells you not to? Is that the only thing keeping you from raping children, or eating babies? Really?

Are you saying that you have no sense of common decency or how to treat others without a book to tell you how to behave?

It sounds to me like you’re saying the fear of eternal punishment is the only thing keeping you from torturing small animals and burning down your neighbor’s house.

Or is it possible that people generally like to get along with other people and behave in a manner which allows them to do so, with or without religion?
