I used to be like you. I called myself an agnostic. Than somebody on the forum brang up this point something along the lines of “Odin and Freya MIGHT be imaginary.”
So after that I became an Atheist.

You do have a point. I think the main point of the video though, is to prove that the Christian view of God is wrong. I suppose after seeing the video you could still go on believing that there is a God, he just doesn’t answer prayers. You’d be a deist like my father and like how I once was.

They did something like this on this one web page where supposedly Socrates meets Jesus.
The argument in a nutshell is this: Think about the story of Adam and Eve. Why did God put the tree of knowledge there? Every Christian will tell you to test man. God must’ve known though, that Adam and Eve would eat of the tree since he’s omniknowing. That or he’s not omniloving. He’d have to be a horrible creature just to torture his own creation like that. So in other words, if you believe the Adam and Eve story actually happened as written in the Bible than God cannot be omniknowing and/or omniloving. You decide.

Meh. I don’t just pray to ask for things. I pray to thank God for things, mostly. The ordinary, every day things in my life, like my family. I’m thankful to God for them. I also pray to help myself see that I’m part of something larger. I pray because I’m a human being, who values relationships. Not just because I desire A instead of B.

I see the case you’re making. But it’s against the ‘Yes, No and Wait’ argument, not the existence of God. Your logic breaks down when you claim that the ‘yes, no and wait’ scenario implies God’s non-existence. At best you can say God MIGHT be imaginary. But He might not. I believe that a society which believes he exists has more potential than a society which believes he does not. (I’ve yet to be proven right there, I admit.) But as an intelligent person, and a Christian, I think you’re claiming that because ‘yes, no and wait’ could be an illusion, God cannot exist. That doesn’t make sense. If God exists, ‘yes, no and wait’ could apply to him. The way to disprove God is to assume he exists, and then explore what his existence implies until you reach a contradiction. However, since God is believed to exist outside of our universe, nothing within our universe could concretely disprove or entirely contradict him. Which leaves us with faith. You believe the universe was caused by nothing, I believe it was caused by something. We’ll just have to wait and see how it ends – however, I’m betting that I’m gonna have a better time of it, and human experience tends to prove me right.

Besides, if there’s no God, who pops up the next Kleenex? :)

You need to learn the real meaning of soverign. God does allow bad things to happen and things that are not in our control All good things happen from bad. You should learn from these and share the love of Jesus with others.
